raptors had a hard fought victory in charlotte last night so we'll probably be a bit tired and by the looks of it, seems that knicks starters should be better rested for this one.
two fyi's: 1. derozan is playing like prime wade at the moment and 2: rose is historically a raptor killer.
some info from the raptors side of things...we start a rookie at PF, siakim. once sullinger got hurt in preseason, siakim started and has performed well. he's a pure hustle player in the mold of faried. good defender but does commit some rookie mistakes. super fast and gets down the court - lowry likes to look for him on the break.
when bebe was hurt, our other center was our rookie poeltl. he looked really solid out there but now that bebe's back, he's the 3rd center so probably won't see him play that much.
this is our sub pattern - patterson comes in for siakim midway through the first. cojo comes in for lowry towards the end of the first. derozan plays the whole first. then our 2nd unit takes command of most games with lowry + cojo starting the 2nd quarter as the backcourt with ross at the 3. usually if our starters start slow, then the 2nd unit makes up for it.
we still don't use jonas enough on offense so that's still an issue.
same sub pattern in the 2nd half but we use norman powell as a 2nd half defensive closer. i've never seen that before - kind of like bringing in mariano. we've been using him that way the past 4 games. so if rose or jennings has big games, norman can come in to cover them in the late 3rd and 4th.
btw, it's huskies night so it's technically Knicks @ The Huskies.
