Granted it all depends where we land in the draft but that is a ways off.
Definitely agree.

Has to be Rodios Kurucs, the next Latvian to be picked in the 1st. KP needs another Latvian buddy on the team.
Please note...I did not know this guy even existed until I checked out DraftExpress earlier today...this is something a man feels in his bones... Latvia all the way.

Knicks67 wrote:Do you see the Knicks resigning Rose or is he a rental? Because that really effects what you decide to take with that first round pick. I like Kp and I like Hernangomez, Baker and don't forget Randle. So I think we have options for the future here, depends upon the fate of whether Rose resigns and whether Melo decides to move from Ny to go ring chasing for what they take, who knows as well, maybe you make some savvy moves trading Melo and Noah for picks if we bomb this season. I guess we have just got to have a little faith in Phil, if he got Porzingod and the promising Hernangomez, I like our hopes for this draft.
I think Rose is a rental, mainly because i don't think Phil will want to pay him what he wants. I think Jennings will come back on a reasonable contract and Phil will look to the draft for another PG or a bargain free agent along the lines of how we got Jennings this summer. With KP, Noah, and Willy, we are set at center for many years. With Lee, Holiday (seems like a good fit to resign) and Baker, i think we are set at SG for a few years. Evaluating the PGs and wings who can play next to Melo and KP in a smaller lineup are essential.
I say Rose is a rental but not for $$ reasons but for PG reasons. Dude's game is entirely built off of athleticism. He doesn't run the offense, he doesn't make smart or even good passes, his defense is suspect, his shot making capabilities are suspect.
And there are a couple of alternate avenues: Chris Paul, George Hill, Patty Mills, Jeff Teague, Shawn Livingston.
Yes i completely agree. I think it is a combination. I see Rose's game more fit for a 6th man role. I think we resign Jennings either to continue as 6th man or start while finding a nice backup. Jennings is a better shooter, defender, and more willing passer than Rose, it seems. What his role will be depends on who else we can get, but i expect him back nonetheless.
I have really liked Jennings this season, great signing. I have not loved Rose this season, worst case scenario we resign him for the max just based on his popularity and the ability to sell seats. Look personally at this point I think Kristaps is where we head, in my opinion Melo's tenure in New York is maybe coming to an end and could well be traded in the offseason to a contender. He draft is where we look, let's say we get the 16th or 17th pick, you can almost certainly pick up a fantastic player to accompany Kp, and what if we get a few picks and some young talent back for Melo? Suddenly the Knicks have made themselves into a Wolves and Lakers type team, one where you take things slow, develop what you have and try to trade it away or anything. That for my mind should be the direction after this season, try Rose, try Melo, but look to Kristaps from here.

BRIGGS's fav player grayson allen hasnt played well tonight. just 7pts. he usually gets bothered when he plays athletic wings that can match up with him. late 1st draft pick in my opinion

Yeah, neither him or Frank Jackson were very impressive.

agreed! frank Jackson was NOT impressive last night
great hype and buildup to the game that was supposed to feature talented players but the refs drowned all the excitement with their whistles

2nd game of the season and both Kansas and duke looked not so great. These made for TV events rarely work well. Even the Thanksgiving tournaments were garbage. Real season does not start until December for most teams. Grayson Allen has a whole season ahead of him, as to about 50 other potential players for the NBA. Some will disappoint and others surprise. KP was not really in the conversation until the last few weeks leading up to the draft. We also have not had the hype of March madness.

No doubt things will change a lot. But its always fun to talk about, even this early.

yay someone listened to or agreed with ned!
Yeah I'm keeping an eye on him. Not much separates him skill wise from Fultz. Both has size, are athletic, can shoot, and are combo guards. He is a sleeper in this draft that when a team selects him and if they develop him properly, you can say how was he not chosen top 5.
Ned, Who do you compare him too?

Chad Ford said scouts thought of him as similar to Jerryd Bayless. I think Bayless is his floor. I think if he develops as a PG, he could be closer to a big PG like Jrue Holiday. But that's a big IF.

Wasn't Bayless just waived?

I think he's hurt. Signed a pretty big contract with Philly this summer.

Frank Mason Jr or Devonte Graham as second round options?
yellowboy90@ 11/17/2016 6:38 PM
I'm still on My Josh Hart train. The dude is like a poor man's Wade but I think he maybe a better shooter. I wonder if he plays himself into the 1st like Jimmy Butler did.

He looked great against Purdue the other day. So far I see him as a better version of Holiday with more scoring impetus and tougher defense. Its looking like he would go mid second round but who knows.
BRIGGS@ 11/22/2016 12:04 PM
I think now well see this guy climb up the draft ladder-- Jalen Adams from Uconn. He reminds me a lot of Derek Rose--same size almost 6-3 200lbs with the same hops. Hes got to hone his handle but hes impossible to guard and has the outside J that Rose does not.
