Knicks · Game Thread = Mavs at Knicks - back home, no Dirk, time to peel off some wins! (page 8)

Not the biggest fan of the trailing the play getting the ball while walking to the line 3pt shots by KP. Not sure he squares up to the basket enough of the time...no stats on effectiveness, though.

Because of where I live, I can't get the MSG broadcast but am stuck with the Dallas broadcasters and, believe me, they're awful. OKC's broadcasters are obviously small town but they're far better than what Mark Cuban trots out there.

Running lineups with two bigs and Melo at the 3 is too slow for the modern NBA.

This is my thinking except I don't add the modern nba caveat

He plays best as a stretch 4. Need to shuffle lineups based on opponent

Fair, but I do think the modern NBA plays much smaller than the NBA of say 20 years ago. Can you imagine Rik Smits and Dale Davis being on the court against the Warriors these days?

KP with the dirk move...wow nice

Some one has been working hard this summer

crzymdups @ 11/14/2016 9:38 PM
Whoa, KP took what looked like a terrible one foot shot in the mid-post and banked it right in.

Justin Holiday for President. Or, well, at least the starting lineup.
SocraticBallin22 @ 11/14/2016 9:39 PM
KP playing like Dirk in front of Dirk?

KP's game is evolving right before our eyes.

That's a signature Jeff move. If done right guy gets shot in rhythm and open

If opponent waits for KP (or frye w Suns) it keeps paint more open for guards

OjilEye @ 11/14/2016 9:39 PM
Loving how they are playing... if only all of our opponents were of the Mavs-caliber

That was for Dirk because he was sitting and watching
Scary how good KP can be if he keeps this up year to year. He's a much much better isolation and shot maker player this season.

I wonder how much Horny will go with the smaller lineup with KP at the 5 going forward?

Lee and Holiday are good defenders who can switch and guard multiple positions. It also spaces the floor better with shooters. Don't mind Noah sitting out some nights when he doesn't have it going.

No I get it. I just don't like the caveat. If we could win w 5 7 footers I'd do it even though it's not the vogue.

I think Melo should be 4 because that's where he's most effective now.

Holiday is just like, "I'm the starter. Accept it, Noah."

Thank God for this win. I was on the verge of breaking the TV watching the Giants.

I think he may have found something with this group. We'll see if he goes with it again over the next few games.

SocraticBallin22 @ 11/14/2016 9:44 PM
Don't look now but the Knicks are playing good defense. Held the Mavs to 66 pts with 3 minutes to play (and they're not fouling like the last 2 games).

BTW, I think Holiday has officially usurped Lance in the rotation--even when he's back from injury. Lance has not been good this year. Holiday can provide both defense and offense.

Knixkik @ 11/14/2016 9:46 PM
This is how you make adjustments. This team is better as a small ball team. Holiday and Thomas, when he's healthy, have a ton of value with their versatility. Noah still has value as a leader and spark for when we want to go bigger and give teams a different look. Whether he starts or not, we should go smaller more often than not.

Holiday not looking like just a throw in. Nice game today. Anyone remember Grant?
