Rose needs to work on the arc of his shot. It doesn't matter if he is shooting after elevating a few feet in the air, or a quick release where he barely gets off the ground, his shot is almost always flat, practically a straight line.
Rose does a great job of finding himself an open look. Just needs to work on adjusting his arc, when he shoots the ball.

This going to be one of the things I watch this season with Hornacek. Is he willing to bench Melo for long durations in games like this? Does he trust the youth enough? This is one of the factors that will make or break the team identity. So far we have seen good coaching had led to tremendous confidence for the youth and our bench has stood up against some decent teams. There'll be games where we need to find second and third scoring options. Will Lee and Holiday step up and take increased loads? Do we game plan to involve them more and take Melo out of the game when needed?
Not looking for Melo to change, he is not very high IQ and his solution to bad shooting is more shooting.

Why does it always go staright to Melo when we lose?? Rose put up a air ball 3 pointer with a minute and a half left which was just dumb.
Umm, because he shot 7 for 25 with 2 turnovers and was a minus 16?
2 whole turnovers??? Ummm, he also had 8 rebounds and 2 assists and was perfect from the line for the one call he actually got all night.
Did Charlotte's backcourt killing the living sheehit out of us bother you at all?
Did KP6 waving at those two Kaminsky threes bother you at all?

Melo has a bad habit of wanting to call all the shots on offense throughout the game, plus Melo want to take the majority of shots the final 5 minutes of the game (Melo's career has never been the dependable 4th qtr. closer.). These are FLAWS Melo has never gotten rid of since joining the NBA. Melo didnt like the idea of certain super-star PG (Iverson/Billups/Kidd) teammates controlling the point. Plus every head coach Melo has had in his career are afraid to bench Melo, especially after Melo had Denver Nuggets GM Kiki Vandeweigh Fired.

Im looking for the Knicks to play TEAM-BALL on the offensive-end this season having FOUR strong optional scorers in Melo/Rose/KP/and Jennings .. I liked when we had a trio of scorers to go to in the 1999 Ewing/Sprewell/Houston/and Childs.

It's funny though, Melo's best seasons were when he was "not liking the ideas" of Iverson/Billups/Kidd. BTW, have you ever managed to look at "super-star" PG Kidd's stat lines that magical season? Did you selectively forget the last two months, where Mr. Nyet couldn't buy an open layup?
Closers close.
Knicks are not Cav's (Star is both a distributer, top 10 player of all time, and a closer!!), Knicks are not SAS, Knicks are not Warriors with maybe the best backcourt of all time and an MVP in his prime!
They can play team ball because its what they do.
Can Melo/knicks do that? Of course but it does not happen right away if it does at all. Forget NuggMelo, thats in the past, its about KNickMelo and for now reduction of IsoMelo.
Are we doing less IsoMelo?
