just in a better head space now that the pain of losing his father is numbing a bit. and in better shape.

I don't think he would be as effective. I think he is best in the 24 mpg range. And we have the big man depth. But he has been incredible no doubt. He's the perfect compliment to KP too.

I agree, 3 games is not enough to determine anything outside his current role

This. Bench was supposed to be a weakness. Come on Now!
i predicted an easy game so some players can rest for the cavs , thank the lord they bailed me out, good win koq was nice
Really ugly first half, but the Knicks pulled it together in the second half. Sort of seemed like they took the Heat for granted in the first half. But promising that they didn't lay down and lose.
I hope Rose can play tomorrow. I'd really like to see a win against the Cavs in the Garden, but given the amount of energy they had to expend tonight and the possibility of Rose being out... makes it doubly good they won tonight.
The Atlantic is looking like the NFC East

It was only a weakness to doubters. I always thought the bench was stronger than most thought. I missed the game so I really don't know who performed off the bench. But I never thought KOQ would be the star off the bench. I figured the rookies we have played professional ball, against grown men. They not the normal college wet behind the ears rookies. Plus we have great mentors in noah, KOQ and other vets to help their development.
Another solid game for KOQ...guy is playing with great confidence...having fun.
Lance Thomas with a great game, too. We forgot about him because of his injuries, but pre-injury Lance from last year was a solid player. If he shoots like he did last year and can play the D we know he can play when he isn't hampered by injures, he is a valuable player in Hornacek's toolbox.

I just remember all the crap 💩 dumped on this team before the season. All the Pros and wannabe Analysts saying it was all about the recent evidence that these guys couldn't play better because...STATS! SMDH

That and no bump for Hornacek. One guy, the insider Pelton? actually said he usually subtracts for new coaches because of the transition. I also think he qualified that by saying it wasn't the case for Thibs and the Wolves.
Knicks are tied for the third best record in the East.
Great game by Melo. I liked how when he saw doubles he kicked the ball out. That's what he needs to do all season long. Don't hold on to the ball long. Keep aggressive but don't hold on the ball long that it makes players ball watch. When you get on a roll like he did, you just have to let him do it in that situation. It should be exclusive to that situation though.
Noah really had a good impact and energy in this one. That's the Noah I want to see. If he can play 7 out of 10 games like this, I feel he's earning his pay. He's got to keep it up. Can't come in the next game without an activity to score. He still missed a few plays where he wasn't looking at all to score. Coaching staff has to keep reminding Noah that he must keep his head up looking for a pass to score. You have to love that our Center can bring the ball up. Our 7'3 power forward plays like a shooting guard. We have TWO point guards that can get into a defense and carve it up. We have an all-star scoring wing. That's alot for most teams to deal with.
Lance Thomas played really well. Love how he is always in the right spot right away. What a good role player. Doesn't waste time. Gets into his spot and moves into another spot quickly within the offense. Just a great role player. No wonder why Phil and the coaching staff have loved him. He looks like he worked on that 3 ball.
Porzingis is struggling with his shot. Need him to calm down and not rush the three pointers or looks. He has them. Take your time on the release. Hornachek did the right thing in benching him late in the game. Give him rest for tomorow and make him hungry to come out and play better on offense. Defensively though KP has been a beast these last few games. Boards. Swats. He's altering many shots.
Overall a sloppy slow start that turned into a dominant win. We should win games like this. Not impressed by the fact that we won. We are a much more talented team. I'm happy in how we won. We were down (I believe 9) and just stayed steady and calm. Like a good team would. Like a team that knows it's good and will run it's offense and shots will fall eventually. That's how we operated even down 9 in the second quarter. Heck of a performance by Melo. Jennings continues to be our most effective true point guard. Both on defense and offense.
Tomorrow I have no expectations. Second game on a back to back, coming back home, and facing the best team in the East and current World Champs. Not going to win those games most of the time. I'd like the guys to show some extra heart considering it is Cleveland, but I don't expect much of a game.

I'm going to blame you for jinxing this game and making it tighter than it should have been.
Shame...shame on you.

EXACTLY!!! I was really harping on the Hornacek impact cuz I felt he was a MAJOR upgrade over the previous coaches and his style fit the talent. They all totally missed this.
Good win. Could have been a bad loss. LT played well. Commented on how JH gave him lots of minutes against the Wolves, in spite of a bad game. so that he can get back into a groove. Paid dividends tonight. KOQ played real well. Again. Was great to see him do that against Whitehead. Noah showed glimpses of what type of energy he can bring to a game. Saved us in first half with several put backs. Melo came alive in second quarter. We needed someone to step up. He didnt let us lose tonight. KP monster boards and blocks. Good team defensive game in second half. They came out of the locker room with more defensive intensity than begining of game. Overall, good sign when we are winning these type of games. Specially before a big game coming up the following night. Could have been a let down loss.

No love for KOQ in this game?!? Just glossed over?!? lol
I like Rose a lot but Dragic would be a good addition.
