This is a thread holding him accountable. Not being able to make shots when DRose is out when you are one of a big three is an issue. Shooting 31 % for an extended period of time is an issue if you are the franchise player and pretty much for anyone in NY. I think if you respond to a thread speculating why he is playing bad by calling it dumb you have to expect posters to respond.

there is a difference between holding him accoubtable and hating a bit. Actionjackson did a similar thread. I am totally fine with being critical of KPs offense lately. HOWEVER he still contributes in other ways which is not mentioned. Also im tired if guys like fishmike making stupid comments about me LOVING KP and hating melo. I dont love kp and i dont hate melo. Sure im a bigger fan of KP but i dont deserve to be insulted for that
Kp needs to play inside /out. I've personally said this from day 1. Sometimes he shows you something like he's the 2 nd coming if a taller kd but he's not. But he can be great in his own right playing inside much more and complimenting with outside play

But now look how things have flipped, Melo is playing when kristaps is shooting around 30%. It's completely unfair to call him fools gold when he is still contributing on the defensive end and with his rebounding while he regains his shot. 2nd year player, he needs time.

Be careful you are making too much sense
He's too far away from the basket. He'll get the ball at the 3 point line do a crossover or short post move and shoot a rushed or turnaround jumper 18 feet out. With his height and skill he'd be a lot more efficient mixing shooting 3s and close up.

from what i've seen, KP has been taking shots out of rhythm and passing up good shots. He's overthinking things in the post too. He needs to focus on one thing and find success with that THEN expand his game again.
One thing that has bothered me is that KP used to get quite a few Down Screen picks so he could catch and shoot and that play has almost disappeared. That's a rhythm shot where you get used to coming off the screen, catching and shooting in a very consistent way. I'd like to see that come back. Jeff needs to run some specific plays just to get KP off and back in rhythm.

you cant make assumptions dude. First off i have given melo credit many many many many times about his rebounding. Despite going up against bigger guys he still grabs many boards. I have also said he is a very good passer WHEN he wants to be. I just wish some of you would stop accusing me of just liking KP and never giving credit to melo. If you are actually fair about it and just ask me nicely you would realize i do appreciate melo and what he does. But i do mention his weaknesses as well....that doesnt make me a hater. Which is the only thing that bothers me about his game at times. Don't want another stretch 5 with no inside presence. If he is to take over the reins from Melo, he must be able to create on his own. And not 30 feet away from the basket, like a guard. He is a very good prospect. Specially for his age. Has loads of talent. Being to harsh on his slump is just not fair, specially when you look at yearly stats thus far. Just don't understand the overreaction to Melo and now KP. Guess fans have the right to be demanding and have unrealistic expectations. Now, let's win tonight or else Knicks suck!

Good Post. However he is more than a prospect. He is already averaging more than 20 ppg but other than that i agree. KP is also dealing with some pain in his right knee. As someone who has played point guard since i was 4 i have dealt with many knee issues and it definetly affects your shot

Not you too. I'm not defending KP's bad shooting with bad knee. Also I never mentioned Melo's bad shooting....ever. My only issue with melo is when he does too much ISO. Jesus Christ Almighty what the hell do you want from me? I have prasied his scoring ability, rebouding, and his passing. I also point out his flaws BECAUSE I feel if he corrects them the team will be a lot more dangerous. I'm getting real tired of this place with all the accusations and everything. I mean we are ALL Knick fans here. We shouldn't bully anyone if they point out a tiny criticism or if they like a certain player. Obviously there are many good posters on here so I'm not accusing peopleof being bad posters BUT I feel some go too far sometimes. I understand disagreeents happen but why cant we be civil and nice about it?

Nice to see the shooting bounce back. Defending the perimeter remains an issue but the Fakers didnt make us pay. Either way great to see him battling another good young player like Randle.

He is doing great. Has superstar games, but can't quite label him there as his scoring avg is 20 pts per, Rebounds at 7.7 per. His blocks has him 8th in the league. He is 30th in scoring and Blocks.
Most important, KP has had some rough games and we winning!!!! Same for Melo. We won in Sac without Rose. Thats a good thing.

Its all good and fun discussion. Actually OP had no idea, as did anyone his knee was bothersome and that has to freak the young man out from time to time.
KP has far exceeded most expectations but mostly him being able to play as much as he has and thus far remaining healthy.
Im ok with his rebounding totals as he is I think deliberately kept from playing in the interior for the bulk of his time. He is mobile and with is improved handle is able to do things this year he could not last year. At 21 his body is really not ready to bang it out nightly. There will be games he gets lost.
I used to think Jennings does not see him but I also might guess KP is sometimes open in transition but will get swarmed by defenders before he can get his footwork settled. That is important for two reasons:
1. prone to turnovers if not planted.
2. Injury prone movements.
KP does is athletic enough to get the ball but it can get him in trouble. When he gets the ball and his footwork is right he is more in control. I watch him off the ball a lot. I like the way the knicks are handling this kid.
