I want this thread to outdo the Tony Wroten thread or we should all just leave the board.

I wouldn't bet on it. Many of the guys that kept the Wroten thread alive with arguments no longer really post now that the team is winning. So if like me you defend this team against attacks there are fewer negative Knicks posts now than there were back then. The whole Wroten thing was really silly. Talking positively and hopefully about a prospect in the summer is pretty harmless. Still after he was let go, Phil added plenty of other good young players to talk about so there's a TON of stuff we can talk about with this team.
How great has it been to watch KP and Willy play together again? Holiday was a GREAT pick up in that trade. Kuz was a good find and thank goodness KOQ started playing well. I think this is a really fun team to follow even if sometimes they stress your nerves.
Awesome. So many in the media buried this team. Week 4 they were ranked 26th by ESPN.

and this was just before the season began. you should see jalen rose and billups on the national telecasts and how much smack they talk about the knicks. listening to them you'd think knicks and nets have the same record.

I can't stand when Billups does the studio show for Knick games. He still seems bitter about being traded from Denver and then being amnestied.

I just heard a blurb on the radio that this is the first time since the 70's that a Knicks team started out a road trip this well!
They played a clip of Derek Rose talking about the team improving and he sounded positively giddy. For him, I mean.

Jalen still has a grudge from when Lateral Speedwell destroyed him in the playoffs. It wasn't pretty.

Maybe. Then again, Barkley is still butt hurt over Mark Jackson taking a broom out after the Knicks swept the Sixers years ago lol Those were great times.
Maybe knicks keep NOT doing well on national broadcasts?
When Knicks are consistent and beaten some top divisional teams they will earn some cred.
To the media, this might just been seen as a nice "run". We fans are "Knicks are for real!!!".
Big difference. Has the team really proven themselves top 10 in the league? Their Current record is nice, and team is trending well.
Its a work in progress. Its nice.

They are 1-2 so far. But playing the Cavs on ring night and then the posse game when the Knicks were playing the second night of a back to back plays into the record some.

Good points. But it's obvious that certain media guys have biases against this team. I'm all in favor for realistic, well thought out critiques of the team. Rose for example. We heard all off-season that he was washed up and had nothing left in the tank. No mention of the fact that he could barely see at the start of last season and he gradually improved as the season went on, even as the Bulls season went to crap. I'm not saying Rose is close to his MVP season. But isn't it reasonable that he would bounce back a little if he's healthy? I'm not the biggest Phil fan, but he's that big a a-hole that everything he says is worth a headline? These are media professionals so I would think they'd at least attempt to contextualize his quotes before running rampant with most of these BS articles.

And without Rose for the second CLE game

Sometimes these kinds of losses are a bit of a fluke. Regular season can create bad situations for a team and a bad loss can paint a false picture. Those blowouts still only count as one loss each and they don't tell you what the team will do late in the season or playoffs.
Had a Chico and the Man flashback with that title, lol.
A lot of talent on this squad, still a lot of work to do to build a contender. Dont know what this team will look like next season. Maybe a lot different, who knows? Things are going to be in flux for the next couple of seasons until the roster more or less solidifies.
Just going to enjoy the ride because it could be a different team next year. Maybe a big time FA will take a sudden interest in NY. Seems more plausible now with the talent, and a coach who looks like he has a handle on things.
