Knicks · KNICKS "BREAKING BAD" IN AZ TONIGHT 9:00pm (page 15)
We won't win road games like this with Melo chucking bricks, this isn't up for discussion. Hornacek needs to bench his ass.
And that airball at the end, that was soooo awesome!! I think it's safe to say clutchMElo is back.

Hi Mr. Troll. Nice screenname. Every Knick fan knows Melo had a lousy game. You are the guy dying for his fans to make excuses. The guy had a terrible game. If we get the usual production from Melo we win. Rose stunk but was hurt. We had enough to win this game and the guy that didnt step up was Melo. OK? Happy now? Feeling better about life?
OK... back to hoops
No moral victories.. this was a winnable game and especially coming before the GS game this would have been a nice win. Too bad KP missed that jumped to win it at the end of regulation. It would allowed the Knicks to escape what was a lousy night. KP and KOQ were bright spots. As great as Tyson's statline was if you watched you know he had a couple plays but those numbers are so inflated. I mean KOQ shot 9-16 and hit at least 5-6 long wide open jumpers because Tyson was more focused on his rebounding total. Another great game for KOQ. Dude is killing it and locked up for a couple more years under a crazy cheap deal. Will be interesting to see if he's trade bait at some point. I am sure calls will come.
It would have been nice to win a game where Rose gave us nothing and Melo put up a stinker but it wasnt in the cards.

Even people with the most revealing, ridiculous screen names will never give him credit for anything because they're blinded by their hatred of the guy. There are probably a lot of former Ewing-haters who wish to have an intervention with you to share how bad they feel about what they did in the 90s.
ccch wrote:Should bench Noah and Start Kyle...Nice form for a ProI can't defend Noah anymore.
More importantly, I hope Noah can be objective and accept that he needs to be benched. We need to hope he can develop into an off the bench spark. If this is the best he can offer hopefully he retires before his contract expires.
I would much rather have KOQ, Willy and Plumlee banging away in there.

Oh come on you too?
I don't hate Melo, but it's no secret I don't like him. I don't like his style of play and his lack of maturity at this point in his career. This season I have criticized him for ball stopping and bad shooting. He has done both. He is our primary scorer. I expect him to shoulder that load, every game. I criticize him when he doesn't. I don't think that he needs adulation when he does. When you make 25MM, and barely do your job you are being inadequate. If Melo ever puts in a performance that qualifies as an over achieve, ment for someone in his paygrade you will see all the adulation you can handle. Till then, we won't really agree on our approach to Melo.
Now people here have put words in my mouth, that I have never said. I have never said this is KP'S team, or repeated that claim made by others. I root for the Knicks, not for Melo or KP. This team has definitely shown improvement this year. Rose has carved out a role that seems to be adequate, Jennings is playing well (needs to cut down on TOs), KOQ has been a revelation, Noah has been a major disappointment. KP has been as good as I can expect from a second year player. On the balance, I think this is a better team than we have had in a while. But Melo and Rose as the two top paid players need to do more and I honestly haven't seen that from them. Rose has definitely had some good games as had Melo, but the consistency is not there.
Team game is still not where it needs to be. Our flow looks good in some games, other games like yesterday it looks stagnant. And that's when the ball stopping and bad shooting hurts us the most. We are also playing horrible defense as a team.

you are going by how much money melo makes? lol even more of a hater than i thought. to put this in context in today's nba...BRADLEY BEAL makes Melo money.
So why the special hate treatment for Melo alone?
He did have a bad game yesterday. Here's how key he is...when he has a bad game...Knicks rarely win. How about Rose KP KOQ or anyone else? When the other guys have a bad game and Melo has a good game, we typically win (at least this season)

Thanks for the mention, but I have criticized Melo's defense in other threads. When he doesn't shoot well, he normally does other stuff that you effing blow off for economic reasons. Like you are here.
I don't see too many games, I listen only on radio, so it's kind of pointless to be on game threads trying to counter your deranged hate for the best player we've had since Spree and Ewing.
You don't like the guy, go follow some other team. I'm sure it's not beyond your brilliance to change your login name to "gladmelowent" on some other board. The Nuggets might even pay someone like you to post, really, they probably would.
You think others think you're a troll, so be it. Maybe if you tried a little even-keel in your "not liking" Melo, you wouldn't be viewed as a troll.

Melo has been making this money for a long time before today's NBA context became real. And if Bradley Beal was on the Knicks and played selfish no defense basketball I would be equally critical of him.
I do think people should play up to the level they get paid at. Melo gets more than anyone on the team, so he deserves more criticism than the others as well. Rose and Noah are next. Noah has been really bad and Rose has been on and off, but more on than off.

There are probably a lot of former Ewing-haters who wish to have an intervention with you to share how bad they feel about what they did in the 90s.Oh come on you too?
When the other guys have a bad game and Melo has a good game, we typically win (at least this season)Melo has been making this money for a long time before today's NBA context became real.
So in your world, winning games near the buzzer, dishing out 7 assists at the SF/PF position, setting franchise scoring records, dragging shit piles of one-season wonders to the playoffs, getting to the second round for the first time since the Eisenhower administration, and shepherding a unicorn is just stuff every overpaid NBA star should do.
Got it.
Can't wait to read your glowing neutral comments at the next game Melo wins for us.
Stick with just the stupid hate. Your retreating into the world of economical expediency is really weak, and it's been overdone to death on this board.

THis is an absolutely false statement made by you: "AND the legions of trolls that show up every time he has good shooting game don't comment at all on this no defense, low IQ chucker costing us games."
You just can't start there.
What is the fallacy? I was on the thread yesterday till a little after half time, I didn't see Jrodmc, etc. criticizing Melo for his horrible shooting. Did you? In fact I haven't seen any of them criticize Melo, except Fishmike and I don't think of him as a troll, he probably does think of me as one. So be it.
I follow the Knicks that's not gonna change. I survived Eddy Curry and Marbury and Jerome James, I'll survive Melo as well. Please point where on game threads I have posted my deranged hatred of Melo as you call it. You put words in my mouth that I never spoke and you generalize against me to make personal insults. This maybe your posting style, I wouldn't know. Don't think you add lot of value with your posts - basketball or otherwise. But that's just my opinion
Yes, valuable thoughts from someone who compares Eddy Curry, Marbles and Jerome James to Melo. You did just say that, right?
Carry on, please.
You do provide a valuable insight to the board while the team's doing well. Since many of your kin are hiding under rocks waiting for a losing streak or Melo to do something more noteworthy than social consciousness and charity work.

But Sadly this election year has shown us that absolutely false statements made by idiotic bloviators can win you the presidency (although apparently NOT the popular vote)so I guess Meloshouldgo is just following the lead of our elected officials.

That is something that was collectively bargained by the Players Union. There is a business side to this and Melo is getting paid what he should be for his years/status. The only thing I think a fan could take issues with is his no trade clause but that was negotiated into his contract and probably was a concession for him taking a little less in his deal.Cartman718 wrote:meloshouldgo wrote:Welpee wrote:meloshouldgo wrote:What is stupid is a $25MM a year player shooting 3-15 and 4-16. Losing Rose was a killer in this game.
We also had 5 more FTs with the same number made as the Suns...Noah only 2/6.
With all the poor play we still should have won.
So it goes.
and one of Jennings was when Melo wasn't even looking and the ball hit him in the side of the head. unbelievable. "get your head in the game" doesn't mean that
