they actually didn't say incorrect. they avoided characterization (weasels) and said detectable with stop watch (weasels). The game clock goes to tenth of a second; you don't need a stop watch
crzymdups @ 1/5/2017 6:28 PM
To be fair, I have seen that call made like twice in 25 years of watching the NBA.
WaltLongmire @ 1/5/2017 6:56 PM
You had the Greek hooking Thomas...Monroe tossing Noah out from under the basket, the missed foul on the inbound pass to Rose, and the 5 second violation.

So in less than 10 seconds we lost a replay decision, and had 3 fouls and 1 violation NOT called against the Bucks...

If we had gotten only ONE of these calls there is a good chance we would have won.

If you watch the video you can clearly see R.Baker yelling to the ref 5 seconds and holding his hand out to them with the five fingers out. Smart that the young kid even knew enough to see it.

Unless there was a blatant knockdown you can't make a call like that with seconds left Would we want an obscure foul called on us the other way. This is pssy talk excuse talk. What we shoukdve done is protect a 15 point home court lead in the 4 th q. That was the only issue

Agree with you, we clearly should have played the same way we played the first 3 quarters, with energy on offense and defense instead of just walking the ball up the floor.

but it would be unfair to not note that we are more often than not on the receiving end of such bad calls. i would really like to hear anyone challenge that with a straight face.

Right... and I'm pretty sure neither time was in the final seconds

Jees man calls go both ways. Once in awhile the ref really fcks up--this case? come on.

I agree that this team can't worry about the refs. Just play ball the right way and they beat the Bucks. They totally lost their focus on how they got the lead. They went from great Ball n Player movement to stagnant and Jeff has to snap them out of that walk it up crap when they start doing it.

Still tho it is annoying how bad the refs tend to treat the Knicks. The Knicks do not get a fair whistle most of the time. Heck even just based on the odds you would think there would be games where the Knicks get a lopsided whistle. NEVER get that Home Team whistle!!!

They seldom go the Knicks way when it comes to these types of games.

Btw, also from a Bucks forum...
Giannis outscored the Knicks by himself, 12-9, over the final 6:30.

And Greek fans at MSG...

Hey...maybe in 4 years we can play him alongside KP

Have to jump on the Bucks when Snell and Henson are out there. Also they cant shoot from 3--we need to sag into the lane because thats where they are getting their points

Chandler @ 1/6/2017 7:32 AM
We lost because of poor D in 4th and I agree w Briggs we should have packed the paint. Giannis Monroe and Brogdon killed us there.

We also lost because of bad. biased whistles sending bucks to line consistently (stopping clock and efficient points) but not sending rose or Melo (who for once was playing tough). That's real and not an excuse. Calls didn't go both ways. They largely went bucks way

The ref issue is real and a problem. In football refs blow a call that costs a game it makes national news.
Think how many times in that game (even last 10 seconds) refs had mistakes on 1 point game.

5 second violation call would be petty but was emblematic of refs having a bad day at the office and the nba being too cowardly to admit a mistake.

Having said that we all agree the players can't get distracted by that even if it's true

matt @ 1/6/2017 9:27 AM
I thought the no-call on the previous play that caused Rose to lose the ball was worse. No way the 5 second violation actually gets called.

Agreed. No fan can possibly judge if their team is getting bad calls anyway.

Why did the NBA decide to disclose the fact that the greek freaks shot shouldn't have counted if they were not going to do sht about it.

It kills me how they review calls the next day and then reveal they got it wrong and it changes nothing..Why the fck are you telling me this.

They talk about all this transparency crap, yet a player gets fine and it's headlines. What repercussions did those refs have, a fine, suspension, dock pay, or are bank accounts getting deposits..you be surprise this refs are getting their proper TIM DONAHUE ON

They need a certain number of strikes for blown calls and then they get suspended or fined. A second fine should result in a stint in the d league at that pay or something. The system needs to be corrected.
