Knicks · Hope Rose is okay - but if he just went AWOL, you have to trade him. (page 2)

Its funny i finally started respecting Rose. During the rape thing i bashed him quite a bit then i felt guilty about. Now i feel stupid for feeling guilty. I understand having disagreements but you cant just go AWOL. Its the ultimate disrespect to your organization and teamates. I doubt anyone still wants to give him a long term deal now

To be fair Melo does not deserve to be piled in with Rose. I'm an advocate of trading Melo if the deal is good, but he is a pretty good teammate and leader. Rose has had poor body language and played selfishly for weeks.

Melo has always shown up. Every day.

I often watch teammate interactions. Melo has been really good with KP. That's why KP vouches for him again and again. On the flip Rose is robotic in interactions. He's never engaged or looks truly happy for a teammate. Then as a point guard he plays extremely selfishly.

I've made a thread a few days ago about wanting to trade Rose. Problem now is teams will low ball the Knicks. Phil has never been great at trades anyway, and now you add a disgruntled player. Two second rounders would suffice I guess. Before this a first rounder was likely realistic.

Knicks need to move fast. Longer this drags worse it is for the team.

No one should ever ever group melo in with rose. Melo has been vital to Porzingis and his development and he's a good teammate.

The notion that an NBA star of his reputation who plays on the Knicks can "disappear" in the NYC area for any serious length of time is mind bogglingly odd in this day and age.

He has no cell phone or it's on "do not disturb?" Yeah right.

Again... I hope Rose is okay.

But can anyone remember an NBA player just QUITTING on their team? I can't remember it ever happening.

crzymdups @ 1/9/2017 10:30 PM
Noah says Rose is ok. I predict he'll never play again for the Knicks. sigh.

It sort of seems like Rose was stuck in a bubble in Chicago and once he played bball outside the bubble for the first time... couldn't handle it? This is one reason I liked the Noah signing. Rose was obviously a hyper sensitive guy and I thought Noah would help him adjust... but I guess it wasn't enough.

I can't see the Knicks and Rose coming back from this. Who knows though.

Joakim Noah says he's spoken to Derrick Rose after the game and that Rose is OK.

Yup

Has some value as an expiring contract, and might fit in with certain teams, but at this moment you are looking at a couple of #2s (maybe a very late #1) and players another team wants to jettison.

What he did tonight destroys much or most of his value.

magicTs @ 1/9/2017 10:39 PM
Noah has confirmed he spoke to him after the game. This appears to be basketball related. That being the case he should be traded with immediate effect. He should never wear the Knicks jersey again.

Yeah, just watched it. Noah looked shell shocked though.

This is not a good situation.

Watching this Noah interview is sad - here it is for anyone who hasn't seen it.

agreed. Somebody just said i was passing judgment on him but its pretty obvious Rose didnt have a legit reason for being a no show.
