I actually like T.J. McConnell a little bit, but he is not a scoring threat, and you would only give him significant minutes if he was playing distributor.
Same reason I don't think Sixers would take Fox, who loses much of his appeal if he is not controlling the ball.
If you like Fox, and I like him a lot, if he gets by Orlando, I think he would be available for, because Monk is a good complimentary player for a Simmons, and Minny won't take a PG.
Hate having to depend on the choices of other teams to determine our fate, but we just have to live with it.
We will know more when we hear about team workouts, which make a difference, despite what some think.

How do you draw conclusions about the Knicks' scouting efforts based on an article about the Nets? Or are you saying that our haul has been much better than the Euronames mentioned to be on the Nets radar?
My take on all this: the NBA and the US college game are the world's best for a reason, and the best players - whether US-born or foreign-born - compete in the US. Europe or the Southern hemisphere can produce occasional stars, and if they come to the NBA while still very young - superstars. But expecting a 25+ year old savior to come over from Europe to come over and turnaround moribund franchises like the Knicks or the Nets - that's expecting too much.
Consider this: Alexei Shved is the highest paid basketball player in Russia, and, possibly, Europe. Therefore, one can suggest that he is one of the best there. It was fun to have him on the Knicks, but do you see him as a starting guard on a championship-caliber NBA team? Unless that team also has LeBron, which would make it championship-caliber regardless of who else are his teammates.

The Knicks get mentioned only once, whereas other teams get mentioned multiple times, and the Nets look like they are doing most of the work. Not that the Knicks are not doing great international scouting, just that the evidence presented is not really proving anything.
Somehow Pasecniks does not sound too exciting. A KP without the blocking and the 3pt shot, which is what differentiated KP from "some typical European stiff". I wonder what his wingspan is. I thought part of the reason teams were high on Gobert was his insane wingspan to go along with his height.

This is my Jeremy Lin pick this year--although Ive been hyping him for the last 3.
Zeek Woodley is the ONLY player coming into this draft who averaged 20 points and 5 rebounds while shooting 60efg 55% FG and 41% 3 OVER 4 years that also has a 40 inch vertical. And competition level had no material effect on his contribution. He got hurt this year and I think it will hurt him a bit--but when you can shoot like that with his power and athletic ability--there are not many people on the Earth like that. Hes like Chasson Randle on steroids--hes 6.2/5 215

My ideal 2nd round targets are Iwunu and J Hart. If we can grab one of those guys, it would be great. Getting a potential 3 and D-type role player who can develop into a wing rotation player with a 2nd round pick would be a great accomplishment.

There are quality 2nd round picks on every team--many of them core rotation players. I acknowledged that some good to great players came from the second round. We both agree on this.
What we have is a subjective disagreement as to how to describe the math.
75% of second rounders never impact the NBA (including over 25% who never step on an NBA floor).
The remaining 25% have varying degrees of success.
I'm just citing figures.
Broken down more, for every 30 players selected in a second round, on average 7.5 will never make a roster, another 15 will play less than 3 seasons, and 7.5 will at least stick around for a 4th season, and of those less than 1 will become an all-star type.
If you consider those figures significant, that's your right.

Hes actual quite an athlete. Hes a guy you dont need a draft pick to grab. At 6-2/6-3 215 pounds with his shooting ability the way the NBA is--hes going to get a good look. Hard to find 41+% 3 point shooters who have other physical abilities. If he trained as a PG wed be talking a top 14 pick.
