The spacing the flow just way different with Melo at 4 and no Noah.

Don't think Baker is a stater, either, but he can be a quality backup in the league. Not bad for an undrafted kid.

We see the bench how they play or the young guys or KP. Horny has a good system he needs young fresh legs and players willing to shoot quick. It can work long term. NO MORE vets in free agency Phil.
I think Phil is done with the Vets after this experience.
I hope Horny has the balls to start benching and reducing the minutes of some of the vets going forward. If Melo is not bringing it at all on D, bench him. He has the no trade, but Horny controls the minutes.
If Noah continues to be an offensive liability, bench him for Willy or Plumlee.
Play whoever is giving the effort!
I think this would set a good precedent for the team.
What a great half!!! Love how these guys are playing. A few guys look like they were unleashed tonight.
I absolutely hated the iso melo shot to end the 2nd quarter. There was really no need for that...we had excellent ball movement in the first half and suddenly we were making shots, doing what we wanted...etc.
Baker is like Plumlee. Not a starter where the ball is shared equally. On a ball dominated Rose/Melo/KP team I think Baker and Kuz or Plumlee or thrive for different reasons
Baker because he's high iq and shoots the ball outside defends the tougher of the two guards (allowing Rose to not be exposed)
Plumlee for his screen setting. Look at those screens he was getting for Rose. Rose gets that on a consistent basis he will score with ease
Kuz because they will leave him open at the corners for 3s and he can make them. He can also drive.
I think horny should be done with Noah in the rotation and give this rotation a chance for 20 games. Worst case you develop young role players for next season like Kuz, Baker, Willy, Plumlee, OQuinn. When KP comes back at 5, you have a chance to be a really good team in my opinion. However that all goes to hell if Horny goes back to starting Noah at 5, Melo at 3, Rose at 1 etc.
The spacing I've been talking about works better with these guys! It makes me even more optimistic for when KP gets healthy. As I've said Jeff has TRASHED the Triangle and if they can defend this offense fits them better.

As we've been begging for Jeff to play these guys it's good for the kids and the team as a whole to get more experience. They actually LISTEN to Jeff!!!
interesting that melo is nowhere to be seen on the shootaround before 2nd half....ditto @ isiah thomas.
ok i see isiah now...melo just walking on court...

yeah - was gonna say. the spacing on offense without Noah is so much better.
Is that the most points we've scored in the first half all season??
KP is out there shooting right? I think I see him

Yes and against a very good team and without KP. That shows you what we could do with KP at 5 and Horny getting guys to play his brand of ball. We just are too slow to play this way when Noah is at 5, KP at 4, Melo at 3, Rose at 1. These rooks like Baker, Willy,Kuz and Plumlee are exactly what Horny needs to get his style of play run.
On two possessions in a row: Melo not getting around the screen at the top leading to Baker fouling Thomas picking up his 4th.
Next defensive possession same pick and roll with Melo, Thomas wide open 3.
He is really the problem on D.
Rose has to make the pass if the 3 point shooters are open.
Thomas is unstoppable this year. The modern Iverson.
