How in the world does he go from 17-12 in 19 minutes to DNP? I like Plumlees picks too but he was NOT Willy G.

One of the centers doesn't play. The Celtics game he sat KOQ for almost the entire game. With KP playing the 5 and Melo blowing up in the second quarter there was less minutes for the other bigs. I don't know how you balance minutes for 5 centers that need playing time. I don't think Noah can be traded. I don't know what the right move is.

Trade KoQ while he has his value up. He has a player option next year so he is going to get paid shortly so why not get a pick or a wing or both. The blazers and the Celtics would be great trading partners but I doubt a Celtics trade would happen.

Yeah, I really don't understand why Willy didn't play last night.

I don't understand Hornacek's rotations at all.

I think they finally accepted that Melo is best at 4. So now the team has completely been shaken up. Melo going to 4, means KP plays more at 5. O'Quinn already gives the team offense. KP comes in and scores as well. So they were looking for Plumlee to get some defense in. I like Plumlee as a regular. To me the problem is how do you give Melo 32 minutes at 4 (maybe more) KP 30 minutes, O'Quinn minutes and also give both Plumlee and Willy playing time.

It's actually real good that we have these many bigs that can play and deserve PT. What you have to do longterm is move one of them to get more help at the perimeter, or you move Melo. If Melo's moved and you've got an athletic 3 in place that can defend and play in a fast paced game, you can play KP at 4 and move him to 5 as the game evolves. This leaves minutes for a rotation of O'Quinn/Plumlee/Willy.

Next year if Melo is traded, I'd like to see us starting Willy at 5, KP at 4, with an athletic 3 who can defend and shoot 3's. KP plays well as 4 and we can play very well with him there if the 5 isn't a liability on offense like Noah or the 3 isn't too slow/plays little defense like Melo usually does as when he's at 3.

Willy's 22, KP's 21. They are foundation players in my book who should be eventually starting for us. I've seen snough from Willy to believe he'll be a starter in this league.

Rest of the year I'd go with Melo at starting 4, KP either starting 5 who backs up Melo at 4, or coming in off the bench. Whatever way works out. Really like O'Quinn, Plumlee and Willy but it will be tough for us to get minutes for all 3 so long as Melo is starting at 4. This team was not built with Melo as starting 4 in mind. It's become that way because Melo simply can not be as effective anymore as a 3. At 4 he looks like a legit all-star, still.

Perhaps my favorite Knick team was Pitino's where he played 10 regularly:

That was the year of the Knick Bomb Squad - I think they had a picture of a poster they did on one of the telecasts recently:

My point is - yea, we have a lot of players that need time, and it is a challenge - but at the end of the day - there is a way. I don't know if the game has changed that much.

None of Billy, KOQ or Plumlee are ready to play consistently and have all shown that they're still inconsistent players so JH mixes their playing time up which i have no problem with cause they usually play really good games when the coach doesn't play them in the previous game. KOQ came out playing horrible in the Celtics game so JH quickly got him out and played Billy and Plumlee who both played well and then KOQ came back like a beast in the Wizards game.

I guess i'd go ahead and trade KOQ if the right return was there for us but i wouldn't be too happy about it cause that kid has really turned his game around and is looking like he could possibly take off if he really wants it. Before this season KOQ was one of the players i would of loved for us to trade but i don't feel that way at all now. I'd trade him if it's a trade that really helps the team but i just have a feeling that as of now we might not get a great return for him unless we can find that one team that really likes him.

I agree. Posted this elsewhere, he is very tradeable. But my preference would be to keep him and Billy and dump Noah. Noah just is done, his shooting is horrible. If he takes a pay cut to play secondary role or be a coach player then ok.

I'm still scratching my head on why Phil gave him a 4 year deal. He is coming off injury plagued seasons and is in his 30's. I wanted Noah here but 4 years was a disaster waiting to happen
