Knicks · Barkley's agenda with the Knicks (page 1)

We all know Barkley dislikes the knicks always had BUT tonight was a particular stupid comment. He said "why are you showing the knicks on TNT" basically saying they have zero appeal. Look im fine with some criticism and god knows the knicks have earned their share for years but Barkley should be reprimanded in some way

We should sticky a Barkley sucks thread.
If it was any other .400 team he said that about, people here would probably be agreeing with him.

Actually he has made some fair points in the past BUT that comment wasnt a critique that was just a way to bash the knicks

We are 4 games out of the playoffs in the East, nothing wrong with what he said. We are not that exciting.
meloshouldgo @ 1/23/2017 11:00 PM
Just to be clear, I hate Barkley
crzymdups @ 1/23/2017 11:17 PM
Barkley is a hater. He just tried to say Kawhi Leonard was a better three point shooter than Durant before Kenny laughed him into silence.
Nalod @ 1/24/2017 7:37 AM
Charles is a hater. But what have knicks done FOR THE MOST PART to not have that reputation?
First period was awful. Mark, Reggie and Grant Hill were ready for a night long "WTF IS WRONG WITH THIS FRANCHISE" as they note we are long on talent and should have a better record. down 14 puts in the first, I was ready to turn it off.

Knicks have a very long history of dysfunction and by doing so its magnified in NYC media market. Perhaps Charles was right, why was this game on? Why does America have to be subject to a team not playing up to its potential? I only watched it because it was on TNT.

I hated myself for it. And I was screaming at the TV watching Rose lose his mind and try to lose the game.

Is it me, or can this kid do anything besides drive to the hoop? Why does his shot have no arch?

Chandler @ 1/24/2017 7:48 AM
That first quarter was misery

Barkley just being Barkley. He also said he was most disappointed in pacers and bucks this year

For all the Pacers bravado, they started off great then went into deep dysfunction mode. Myles Turner bounced the ball off his foot and the game was gone for them.

Why do we care about this? You guys are way to sensitive.
EnySpree @ 1/24/2017 11:49 AM

Fuck Barkley Fam..... leave it at that

Moonangie @ 1/24/2017 12:24 PM
I think Chuck is actually a secret (but fair-weather) Knicks fan. He really wants to say positive things about the Knicks, wants them to return to glory, but disdains the product that has been in MSG for a couple decades.

Not sure I can blame him for that. The Knicks have been pathetic for a LOOOONNNGGG time.

I doubt he will be a hater once/if the Knicks return to respectability.

WaltLongmire @ 1/24/2017 12:35 PM
Funny thing is that the announcers seemed to have a good time watching and analyzing the game, and the game turned out to be exciting, and for the Knicks, a good, if scary, victory.

This is also a way for young players to be seen. Think about the national coverage Willy and someone like Holiday got last night. In some ways this is how you can pull fans to a team, even if it means rooting for a particular player.

F'n Miller had NO idea that Willy even existed, to some extent, and he was impressed by Holiday, too.

Barkley wouldn't be saying this if he was on a sub-par team continually being shut out of national games. Better that he takes the games that come to him and do his best to honestly analyze things without getting in the cheap shots.

SupremeCommander @ 1/24/2017 12:42 PM
pretty much every nationally televised game the Knicks have played has been awful to watch... I saw the comment and really didn't take offense to it. I think the entire audience assumed that the Knicks were going to choke this one away. They tried pretty damned hard to accomplish that

Only thing more brutal for last nite was to have been for Pacer fan.
Worse than anything was looking at Larry Birds closeup on tv of his ugly emotionless face.
Dude looked like an emotionally detached alcoholic at a step grand daughters first dance recital.
