Was at the game last night. Great win. Lee played great in second half. We won because of his shot making and defense. Great to see him be aggressive as he often passes shots up. He is very athletic and , I think he will be more of a scorer going forward.
Melo was off. Expected better game since he has been shooting well. Just not in the game and forcing it. Seemed like he was trying too hard and trying to prove something to the fans. Did notice that he played better with Jennings as it allowed him to go back to block and not have to create plays by the three point line. Tough shot at end as he was fighting the Hornets, shot clock and the entire arena. Except for me and a few others.
KP looked great in first half. They ran some plays for him, which I have been hoping for both him and Melo. Than nothing in second half. They went back to putting him in the corner and once he got the ball, he was covered and could not create on his own. They have to keep runing screens for him. His short jumper is like a layup. He is so tall and no one can block his shot. He did not look right on defense. May be his injury but he is still jumping up on pump fakes. Frustrating him getting into foul trouble.
KO played great. Such a difference with him on the court hitting open jumpers. He is also able to finish around the rim. Something Noah can not do. You can instantly see player looking to pass more when KO was in. Team looked better when Noah and Rose were off the court. Although Rose had a good first half and actually looked to pass a bit. We have to find a way to get KO and Holiday on the court. The energy on defense and movement was drastically better when they were on the court. Holiday is non stop movement. Last thing, Jennings did a great job on Walker down the stretch.
Great win, the last few minutes the place was going nuts. We want a winner so badly. Hope they keep it going on Sunday.
Sounds like you had fun!!!
Never underestimate the power of positive entertainment!
You got a great game to have seen in person HofstraBBall 😬 Amazingly most of the games I saw in person were wins. I got lucky 🍀. If CLee can stay aggressive it makes such a difference. The way they used KP in the 1st half simply MUST be the DEFAULT style of play.
I want to ask did you see what the Hornets were doing in the 4th quarter? Were they jacking shots up? Did the Knicks win or did the Hornets blow the game? The way I saw it was more the Hornets let the game slip away.
Jennings has to keep up this aggressive play...these past few games he's looked like the pre injury Jennings turning a Detroit bottom feeder into a serious playoff team...
Man Jennings has all the talent in the world to be just as good as walker,or bostons IT. He is great at drawing fouls when he drives to the hoop, he's great in transition, great in the pick and roll or pop, A pest on defense, a burst scorer, this guy has all the tools to be a all star pg a n this league...
I think if Jennings keeps playing like he did last night or vs the pacers... he needs to start the rest of the season . Seems like everyone loves playing with him.
Also rose off the bench might do wonders for him as the number one attacker scorer of the second unit ...

The couple things that definitely separate Jennings from the other PGs are a better jumpshot and the ability to play better D. Jennings has quickness but he doesn't use it to fight around/through picks and he's got to stop with the dump switching (even if KP or Melo call for it, Holiday fights to get back to his man). And he needs to step up in the floor leader department, stop throwing your hands up, stop with the stupid antics and just play and lead.

The thing with Jennings is he can shoot and d up just as good as the others. Look at how well he guarded walker last night, the ability to create contact and get to the line is something that was bringing him to stardom in Detroit. Jennings has better court vision then the above mentioned as well ... he is a streaky shooter but he is also a clutch shooter example that 3 he drained last night right in front of the hornets bench .
I think the issue with New York Jennings is consistency like last night he looked like a starting pg this team can build with for the future ! And then there are games he dose not attack and just hang around the three point line and becomes a non factor on offense . But with how he's starting to play of late it looks like he's getting his confidence and legs back ... if we are getting pre injury Detroit Jennings we will make the playoffs and will be a dangerous team in the second half of the season ...
I guess we will see what kind of Jennings we are getting for the Second half of the season ... I'm hoping for pre injury Detroit Jennings
In the second half, what do you think explains KP's utter lack of involvement? Were his teammates not looking for him or did he look winded?

They were taking bad shots. Think Belinelli hitting those crazy three's got them 3pt. happy. But it was that quick run by Lee that turned the momentum around.

Not winded. Foul trouble. And they also went back to the spread offense. Specially when Rose was starting to get it going in third. He did have the opportunity to make a move or back up his defender but chose to pass. Think its because he is trying to keep ball moving. They need to run picks for him within 20 feet. Specially in 4th. They did one time late in the game and he hit a big basket. Just cant leave him hanging by 3pt. line.

Bro, not the first 3 quarters and a half. Weird enviroment. Like the fans were expecting a loss and couldn't wait to complain and boo. Guess the losing is messing with peoples confidence. I dont agree, watching these guys every game, they can turn it around. Getting KP healthy, Lee more aggressive, sitting Noah, playing Rose more with second unit and Melo now starting to shoot better only means we can go on a run. Just have to get rid of the Phil drama, trade talks and get behind our team.
