Why isn't Willy in the game when DHow fouls out???

Holiday was was in the game. The only real issue is not going Willy down the stretch on offensive possessions and maybe trying Baker instead of Kuz and just play a Holiday on Muscala.

First guy off the bench is Kuz..I'm talking from the beginning of the game...

Slide Anthony over the the 4 then, I assume...put Holiday at 3?
holfresh @ 1/29/2017 7:14 PM
There is no game to game consistency..They had some success playing Holiday and Willy more after the big losing streak and it's like there is no carry over..

I don't know why I'm so upset, Phil is going to burn this motha down anyway...

Actually thought about Baker instead of Kuz too at one point during the game, since Kuz had a poor game shooting from distance.

I think it would have really help Jennings to have another ball handler in the 4th OT because he was clearly tired.

I was thinking that too...

No excuses for not playing Willy - 4th OT and the dude had 3 minutes playing time. IDK what he has against Willy, but I don't think he is trying to get him to succeed.
corvetteknick @ 1/29/2017 7:22 PM
Hornacek is really frustrating with his inconsistent use of Willy. The kid has most definitely earned consistent, regular PT, but seems to fall in and out of favor with Hornacek without any reason. The refs were horrid, but Hornacek with that WTF 20 second TO after the Knicks had buried 3 straight 3 pointers in the 4th OT just killed the rhythm.
holfresh @ 1/29/2017 7:23 PM
The refs are so bad...

I have seen that work...

We won!

...the battle for the draft, that is.

It's all that matters, anyway.

It was a winnable game, but really how many letters is the NBA going to get tonight

That was a horribly officiated game. I put the tv on and the encore was on msg and it was the play to end regulation when Milsap fouled Melo but no call. There shouldn't have been a single o. t.

Yeah, but I'm willing to give the Knicks a pass on this one. They fought their hearts out in addition to having to battle these crooked refs. And for all of the bashing he gets on this board, there aren't many players in the league who can deliver what we got from Melo this afternoon/evening.

Yeah. I could have had half my Sunday back if the Knicks replace Melo with Austin Rivers.

Maybe the least dramatic 4OT game ever. (Hard to say though, I _think_ I've seen a 4OT game, maybe the 2012(13?) Hawks vs. Utah game? Maybe I'm just remembering the highlight reel. Well, my memory of the highlight reel is dramatic.)

One take away for me, however, was, remembering Mike Budenholzer is a solid coach. Atlanta's not an exciting team but they have been solid, with a lot of significant player turnover, the last couple years and they played solid team ball tonight. Substitutions were clear/useful, various plays after time out worked, they made defensive adjustments, etc. The Knicks looked lost on the floor at times and, hey, the season is half over. And we have a number of vets. It's not so much that they looked ill-coached, they looked undercoached, just not clear on how to play together. Hornacek's not exactly a rookie but even with a bunch of players swapped out for better players, I'm not sure they would have played much better tonight. Maybe it's just that it's such a disparate group of players, maybe Hornancek needs another year with them. Dunno. Would I trade Hornacek straight up for Budenholzer? Yeah.

As great as Melo is he sucks the flow out of the offense....Olympic Melo is different and if that Melo played with a bit more effort defensively and we got Rose to pass 1 out of every 3 times on the attack we could win a bit more...

We've lost three games to Atlanta in the past 4 weeks by a total of what... 8pts combined? Frustrating.

Wed 12/18 L 98-102 / OT

Mon 1/16 L 107-108

Sun 1/29 L 139-142 / 4OT

Yep, we suck on a level that really sucks: we are good enough to battle around but still suck so we end up losing.

I think when finding blame for the season so far Hornacek is really skating under the radar. Don't understand why he doesn't get more blame.

We lost this one because of the refs, I'm not insulting the team for this game, they gave it their all
