Knicks · Looking at the differencials (page 1)
I wonder if the strategy should be the Knicks as buyers instead of sellers despite being 7 under. The east is weak and any smart move by us in a trade could give us an effect of what Miami is feeling right now. I think "as is" via both the coach and players is too much inconsistency to make a 7-8 game positive run--we need more or different. We could use a guard with good two way skill and an athletic 3 man who can help on the D --thats the difference maker as is.
Knicks have some good players but its not a balanced roster and we have some bad fits. Be smart and patient and sell high only
The Knicks still need another PG, but I still believe you bring KP off the bench, along with C.Lee, and start Jennings and K. O'Quinn.

I actually think Melo has shown how good he still is as a scorer and I'm confident one of these playoff teams is gonna find a way to give the Knicks what they want. People can try and downplay what Melo can do but VERY few players can create his own offense quite like Melo. Melo could easily put a good team over the top in a Series.

So you have Melo/KP/KOQ/Willy/Noah... 5 guys who all deserve rotation minutes at 2 spots. So I certainly see it as unbalanced. The Knicks still need another PG, but I still believe you bring KP off the bench, along with C.Lee, and start Jennings and K. O'Quinn.
Then you have Noah, who despite rumblings on the board is still a good player and showed it again last night. That being said he's a bad fit, especially with our starters. Rose/Melo/KP are all pretty much ball stoppers where as Noah is best moving the ball. He's one of the best passing bigs in the league and sets a great screen as well. They have been getting more of that from him but much of what he brings is totally wasted.
I like that the level of talent has been really upgraded, but they are a poor fit. Thats part of building a team and part of the struggle. What wold be REALLY bad would be giving up a young big or Melo for the sake of balancing the roster. I would rather have a clumsy roster than give up talent. We will see what patience yields.

totally agree. IF you watch him and think there is no market you are a fool. There will be teams looking to make a big move. The problem is getting the parts to fit, but there will be a deal.

You got to give to get, the contract has to match up, has to make sense for the knicks, and he has 2 teams on his list..
He may can score with the best of them, but if you think taking melo and giving up your depth to get him is a good move, your not a very good GM.
You can be a top heavy team with him, but one guy gets hurt, and your done..Which is what Labron is over there screaming about, he knows that that's not the way to go..balance wins

How many coaches now and the offense always looks the same and the D is non existent. To much ball stopping, not enough player movement or ball movement and the effort on D is inconsistent. I am beginning to come to the opinion that the problem is not the coach, or coaches in this case.

Its been well documented that it's the clips or cavs, boton came into the picture because of the endless draft picks, and a couple of contracts that can match..labron and Paul are his Bff and he has a crib in L A...there's no other contender is really interested in him.

Agree with everything here...Especially with the bold, which is why I feel KP should be the 6th man.

He didnt have a NTC with Denver. He was a FA and told Denver he would resign with the Knicks or Nets which is why they were the two teams involved.

your right about the Denver situation, but why would he or anybody waive their NTC to go to a non contender, or a suspect contender, and why would a contender (spurs, cavs, gsw, rockets, okc, clippers) who all have late, late 1st round picks, no expiring contracts( we already seen cap space doesn't guarantee any quality FA) for melo..
This is just a really bad time to trade melo, IMO
