Knicks · Grizzlies cut Troy Williams to sign a pro guard Toney Douglas (page 1)

I think the Knicks should seriously sign him and cut Sasha. He was really good in SL and I thought a guy who was really under valued in the last draft. Hes got athletic 2 way skills and he can handle. Hes got a long NBA career--this is a bargain. We do not have a 2way athletic 3.

is there a reason why they cut him?

They prefer Tony Douglas to him? That's ALL I need to know.

The NBA works on a #s basis. Thats a playoff team that needed a pro guard--hes a numbers casualty as a undrafted rookie with small cost.

He appears to have decent athleticism and defensive versatility. I'd say he's a no brainier if he could shoot just a little bit. Does offer more than N'Dour does?

Ndour is not a 3--Williams is a 3 who can handle the ball.

I would cut N'Dour or Sasha and take a long look at Troy Williams.
We need athletic 2/3 types. Williams is strictly a three, but he'd allow us to play Melo at the 4.
I'd love to sign him.

We havent had an athletic 6-8 player since Ariza. Im not sure Ndour has a career in the nBA--maybe but Im pretty sure Williams does. You get to look at him for the cost of nothing in terms of NBA $

But can't shoot....This isn't even a consideration if N'Dour extends his range Can Williams be taught to shoot a decent percentage? The ball handling is nice, but I'more interested in his 3 and D potential.
