I don't like moving a player that has shown they can improve from season 1 to season 2. OQuinn follows the advice given to him last season and dropped weight, improved his jumper and his overall play. He makes just 4 million a year and by NBA terms that's not much. He is 26 years old with prime years ahead.

I'd use Noah as 3rd Center and play both Willy and OQuinn ahead of him.

I agree, but let's look at it this way for a minute; O'Quinn only gets paid 4 mil a year for 1 more season after this current 1. The last year of the contract is a player option. He is most definitely going to opt out and get a big deal. Are we really going to pay him 10+ mil per year to back up Willy and KP when we will already have a 72 mil dollar big man off the bench? I just don't see it. I see us moving him while he has another year on that bargain contract and his value is high.

Yes that's true. But wait a year to do that. Let's see what Willy can do as a starter next year or what the team is like. We should cover our younger players that show improvement and a passion for the game.

Great point, if we wait until next year KOQ will be pending to opt out. Remember when he sucked the first 10 games and the unfaithful were "Play him , then trade him!!!!"
If there is a good trade, you make it.
Has anyone thought MAYBE Noah's effect on KOQ and Willy contributes to their good play the last two months?
If so, is that alone not worth the money??

The other thing to consider is Willy is thriving while the team is not. Im happy he is, and its hopeful but its just something that does not have me anointing him a starter quite yet.

OK, but what will O'Quinn's value be this time next year? It will be significantly less given he will be a free agent that summer. We need to deal him with at least 1 full year left on his bargain contract to get real value back. But i like him and would be happy keeping him, i just don't see how it's possible for him to be here long-term if KP and Willy are the answer.

Bucks have just agreed a trade to get rid of their Plumlee who has done nothing this season and is due over $50mil over 4 years- so those who think Noah is unmovable, take comfort!

Apparently agreed in principle to move him to hornets for hibbert (expiring) and hawes (1 year player option after this. Wonder if they move those two to sun's for Brandon Knight

yes, keeping fingers crossed in the never say never category. As another anecdote Biyombo got big money for playing defense and bringing energy. His offense is as bad as Noah's and maybe worse when you consider passing skill and IQ

I've been a holdout-optimist for Noah, but now feel between Oquinn and Willy we need to got that route (And Plumlee). I do like Noah's energy and attitude though

Sometimes your worth isn't just on the court, he's energy and locker presence is always a +. but at this point i have seen enough on the court action to suggest he's a suspect player hindering willy.

It's just weird how phil sign this guy without doing his homework.

I'm fine if we keep Noah- the way I look on it is that young teams building via the draft always reach the point where they are desperate for vets with character and have to overpay them to get them to sign with a losing team. We'll need to have some vets on this team, can't all be young players- Noah will fulfil that roll.

Agreed. KOQ is a great backup to both Willy and KP. But we can't keep 5 of them on the roster and KOQ will want to get paid. Plumlee is cheaper and player solid defense.
