after the Nets game what do you guys think? Marc Gasol? I think he's def going to be a starter someday at this point. What a steal in the draft if that's true

McHale is the obvious visual comparrison... but McHale was a bad motherfucker. He topped off with 29 pts a game and filled the stat sheet. I dunno if Willy could do that, but I think the dude can easily get a meaty double double evey night. 14/12.... his passing out the post is what really turns me on tho. I want to anchor him inside surrounded by KP, Kuz, Holiday and Jennings. I think ask the ball stoppers need to come off the bench. Melo and Rose. We play so much better what that ball is moving.
I don't really see Gasol anymore. Willy is a better athlete and much better rebounder, but not capable of anchoring a defense like Gasol. Their strengths and weaknesses are really much different. I can't really think of a perfect comparison right now. Going back a little bit, maybe Brad Miller? I think Willy can be one of the league's best rebounders, a 15 pt 12 reb type player in his prime.

Brad Miller had a shitty post game though.
What you think about Bison Dele (Brian Williams) or Chris Gatling?

Neither were elite rebounders though. Not sure there's a great comparison out there.

I think Willy in his prime will average around 20 per game with 9 boards. I am that much of a fan of this kid. I see KP averaging 25 and 9. Just need a PG to run with them.
I am a big Knick fan but I loved McHale and Bird. I know ....weird....but my disdain of Ainge and Denise Johnson more than balanced for it.

Yeesh...Brad Miller, Brian Williams and Gatling?
Maybe a bigger Terry Cummings in his prime
Judging by the names we're throwing out there, this kid gon be ight!

Early/mid 2000 basketball is dead no more Kobe, iverson types work in today's NBA it's all about ball movement and open looks ... still if we can get melo to buy in on ball movement you keep him unless someone blows you away with a offer ... the clips know they don't stand a chance vs the spurs or warriors. Cleveland is in a land slide we need to be patient cause one of those teams is going to throw the kitchen sink at us for melo if not at the trade deadline this summer for sure .
Willy and KP will form one of the best front court tandems in the NBA mark my words !!! Kuz is a great sf to play next to them . Plus If we get a top 10 pick for a upgrade at sg or PG we are setting this team up for a future championship team ... melo was right KP will bring us to the promise land melo just didn't know if he would stick around long enough to be apart of it .
At this point probably reminds me of Ronny Siekaly.
ISO ball can work if the player is that dominant and good
Kobe or Jordan in their prime would still be great and be able to win
Shaq or Hakeem
But there aren't many players like that in the league

Those guys got theirs but knew when to pass the ball. They all were great passers for the position they played. They understood how to control a game and the teams built around them. Melo and Rose play one way and that's it. That's why were losing. It's all good though. Just as long as we keep moving forward and don't start doing It like Isiah and Layden. Right now we are good and everyone can see it. The future is bright

I totally agree. Those guys picked their spots. They always made sure their team was engaged. Melo showed some of that this year but I think his age and wear and tear has caught up to him.

None of those guys hold the ball too. That was the last thing Phil said publicly and he was roasted for it. We've since fell in the dumps.... his words should ring bells. Melo holdshould the ball too long. Rose too... it's a team game. The ball will always come back to the scorers. It's a 48 minute game
a pure mix of MGasol and Zach Randolph

I would say young Zach Randolph is accurate without the visits to strip clubs.
he kinda reminds me of Dale Davis

Dale had no post moves.
