IMO Phil has done well in terms of having some vestige of a future in place. His choice of young prospects has been good as has his choice of role players. Where he's had failures has been his Big Name moves. Those haven't worked out but let's remember losing big got us KP and Willy. Getting rid of Melo could yield more young talent!!!
Phil has not screwed this franchise if he can trade Melo and start fresh with a young roster. Phil gave it a shot and with Melo and Rose. They didn't get it done. Now we move on.

I agree- people want us to rebuild but don't want to lose. They want us to trade melo but then blast Phil for pressuring him to leave (how else will he get melo to agree to a trade if melo is comfortable in NY, other than by making him uncomfortable?).
If we move melo and get back anything of value and finish this year with a top pick, then we're in very good position to rebuild properly.
Phil critics need to wait until the trade deadline to judge his melo tactics.
One thing I do find funny is the hypocrisy of the media- they blast melo all year round but rush to his defense when Phil tweets it!
