Knicks · Phil had other opportunities...... (page 1)

Steve Balmer wanted him to lead his purchase of Kings and move it to Seattle.
He was tight with Milwaukee group.....
He could have been in in with Clippers......IN LA. If he waited.
but he wanted this in NY with the money, with the Knicks. I thought Prohkerov was after him at one point.

Fans of great enthusiasm believe we are on a higher plane and deserve phil to address the team.

"Blame", its all on phil, good and bad. He signed melo, but we dont' know if of all things Dolan could have said, "You can do anything you want but keep melo".........
and perhaps its all good that we move on. Melo is trying to chase history and get into the top 20 of all time scoring. We assume he has championship aspirations but for now he is chill to score 100+ pts a week and live like a wealthy man in NYC.

As for phil, I don't see why he would sabotage the team as many have suggested. SAS says he took the money and does not want to be here and is very effective in his relentless approach to Phil.
Why would PHil want to lose? Want to take the money he might not need? He had other opportunities.

In my view he wants the got Damn triangle run and wants knicks to play thru it. Melo won't, it will mess up his quest. Rose is reluctant, he was not in on the camp and it messes his stat line for a contract.
Nalod is as baffled as anyone as to why this team has folded. The notion of "Ruining Melo's value" as if some how GM"s would not know whats going on is foolish. Phil's comments don't ruin his value, the tape of his play speaks plenty.

Media would have Phil's media comments as being a factor to what he would get in return on a trade. if Phil thinks the team would be better long term without melo then that's good enough for me.
If you don't believe it, or think that PHil is the problem and Melo if left alone will move the franchise forward then one thinks Phil should leave and the franchise would be better for it.
As if a new president/GM would never make a bad trade, or miss a signing.

There are about 24 teams that are not contending. Tere are teams with talent not functioning properly.

Since we need a hook, a closing statement of emotion:

Then its obvious the Phil has once again assembled a group that won't adhere to the culture. Remove Phil or go all in?
Does anyone think Phil is just mailing it in? Have a secret agenda? Does not care? Or unyielding in what he wants?

Phil is accomplished and established man.
He care less about who said what. Media, fans, players...
The crowd of people who always see only one side of the story and always think they knew it all.
That they knew better that anybody how to run a team, how to win chips, assemble a contender.
Of course they knew better that man who actually did it 11 times.

Agree. Phil was a member of the only 2 championships in Knicks history. He chose NY over LA and being with his once fiancee.

He is committed to NY.

He is the only one in NY who has won a ring.

In Phil, I trust. What are my other options? Dolan? Melo? Rose? please.

Phil is just a guy that the media can use to put all the blame on after they're done blaming Melo. Phil put a team with plenty talent together that should be winning games and they're not, that's not on Phil 100% like people are acting. Now of course the team he put together isn't coming together like most of us thought they would for whatever reason so does Phil deserve some of the blame for it not working? Of course he does but he doesn't deserve the blame for them being this damn bad. There's way too much talent on this team that they shouldn't be this damn bad even with them not being a great fit cause there's so much talent.

Phil is 100% responsible for the team and all that goes with it.
If Phil thinks ONE of the things wrong is Melo's ball movement and thinks ANYTHING in return furthers the team culture of ball movement, then OK.
If Phil bails on the Derrick Rose experiment because he does not think the kid will adhere to what he wants him to do, then OK.
If Noah was a mistake, it is done. Phil leaving won't erase it.
At his point Phils biggest problem is he might have players telling him all kinds of "Yes, I will move the ball" but don't, then he has to get the right players.
Mills has been called a "Mole" by some for Dolan. No need, the record tells me they are not a good team.
"Phil is killing Melo's value"......How, by saying what everyone can see? no secret. melo is a great scoring forward, relatively healthy for and I'd say is a good teammate. He is in the league 13 years, no secrets. GM's know who and what he is. They will try to fleece Phil. They should. Phil has limits and knew this the moment he requested the NTC. We all know this. He won't get full value because of it.
No secret.
Trading Rose? If Phil thinks no way he signs him, then yeah, get what you can.
Is Ropez missed? Yeah, Noah is a far better player but he is breaking. Timmy for Grant? Sure, it was a good try. Not everything works. Knicks not the only team this happens to.
Tyson? Be lucky if we got Jae Crowder. Boston got a great deal! Calderon? was better than anything we had and Grant, nor Langston was able to take those starter minutes. Better to Keep Felton?
Miss Felton? So by NOT panicking last year, Phil got Jennings and Rose. on Paper upgrade.
Shump and JR? Yeah, that was working well, wasn't it? They have rings playing with Tristin, Lebron, Love and Kyrie. We had Melo.

Phil is totally responsible for all that is good, and all that is bad. So is every other GM, and if he leaves/Fired, so will Steve Mills or Isiah.
