I haven't heard anyone refer to Melo as acting like an idiot. I haven't been watching the post games so I might have missed something. Can you clarify how Melo has been acting like an idiot?
i was refering to james dolan and phil
Oh good. I agree.

...Well played..

phil has definetly went about it the wrong way. He should have just had a face to face with melo and told him that it might be best for both sides to part ways. He should have kept it private

I believe he already did that.

Me too.
Melo says he didn't. Wojo says he didn't. Phil hasn't said anything.

Uhhhhh Melo and Phil did have a face to face. That was well talked about. People just want the desperate house wives version of things. That's why they follow the Knicks.

They met but Phil never said he wanted to part ways face to face. In fact after they met it was reported that the Knicks wanted Melo if he wanted to stay.

He makes a tweet and that's behaving like an ass hat? I think the media and Fairweather fans are the real asshat.... there are more people talking about this than when the Knicks were 14-10 this year. I stay woke.

Yes. He has made 2 tweets in 2017!! He doesn't tweet anything about the Knicks in a positive sense. He doesn't even speak about the Knicks in any sense (sometime in September was his last press conference!). He is paid a MILLION FUCKING $ a month and his behavior is a disgrace. He has no regard for the Knicks fans whatsoever, fairweather or otherwise. In fact he treats ALL of us like complete mugs. He allows players to go AWOL with no repercussions and is meant to set an example for the whole franchise. He is doing a terrible job.
By the way your comment about fairweather Knicks fans is hilarious. You would hardly be a Knicks fan if you were a glory hunter would you. We are a dismally underachieving ball club and that shows no sign of changing under Jacko's leadership.

Phil doesn't have to give a report to the fans every day, week or otherwise.... his first few years he was very vocal. He took a step back and I don't blame him. He's constantly ridiculed every time he opens his mouth. If a guy isn't talking how could he be displaying any behavior? He's at every home game. Anybody can ask him a question. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to see we need to keep rebuilding through the draft. If Melo doesn't want to deal witj that he should go. That's no secret.the media flips a tweet into Phil belittling Melo....that's all bullshit. Melo needs to go to a playoff team. He's proven he can't lead men. He needs to go to a ready made playoff team. The Knicks need to tank and build around Kristaps and Willy. All the drama is for the drama queens.

We're underachieving because of Melo and Rose. Phil hasn't interfered with Horny. All the triangle stuff was discussed before he was hired. This is all on the leadership of their star players. The talent is there. Phil did that. They aren't executing... Melo and Rose did that. Simple mathematics.

Now the media is saying no one will come here. That's been the case. Only star that wanted to be here was Amare Stoudemire because he wanted to build his brand. Nobody else wants to deal with bitchy fans and media. You make one Tweet and the world goes to shit. Give me a break. Are we not men?

Phil gave Melo his last shot at winning. They are underachieving? Time to tank and rebuild. Fuck Melo. Either stay and deal with our or demand a trade. Phil gave him that no trade clause out of respect. But he's a asshat right? Yeah ok

And that's the truth. The Knicks want to move him but if he wants to stay so be it. That's why Phil gave him the no trade clause Out of respect. Yeah but let's just feed into the drama.

Yeah. Melo said they talked for 5 to 7 minutes and Phil never said he wanted to trade him or asked for a list of teams. Maybe if Phil had actually said "Listen, we are ready to go in a different direction and I want to help get you to a winning situation" things might've gone different. Instead Phil is telling Melo to his face that he wants to keep him and feeding negative stories to Kevin Ding and Charley Rosen which say Melo needs to go. It's a classic Phil manipulation technique that is not really built for the way the media works in 2017.

Jeannie Buss put an end to that and gave that job to Magic Johnson. But yeah, I wonder if he realized he couldn't just jet for the Lakers and it made him more interested in trading Melo. The timelines kinda sync up.

Agree except that nothing was fed to Ding Dong. He basically plagiarized every negative article written about Melo since he came in the league. Leaving out any failures by Phil, Noah and Rose.

All of that is what you say. You don't know what they talked about. As far as feeding stories talking subliminally through those writers? Those writers wrote what we all are thinking. Melo needs to go. We are a rebuilding team. If he doesn't want to go fine.

One could say Melo is speaking to msg through Wade, cp3 and Lebron. All three seem to have alot to say about our team. But no that doesn't stroke the narrative

All of that is a Melo quote.

http://nypost.com/2017/01/25/carmelo-ant...

Anthony revealed his meeting with Jackson and Mills lasted five to seven minutes and the Knicks president and GM did most of the talking — but not about Anthony’s future.

“We were talking about the triangle. No, I’m just kidding,” Anthony said.

There was a report the talk was “more contentious than usual,’’ but Anthony denied it.

“Not at all,’’ Anthony said. “It definitely wasn’t heated. I don’t know who would say that.’’

Asked if he had given the Knicks a list of teams he would agree to a trade with, Anthony said, “I haven’t told anybody anything. I haven’t had that conversation with anybody.”

EnySpree wrote:As far as feeding stories talking subliminally through those writers? Those writers wrote what we all are thinking. Melo needs to go. We are a rebuilding team. If he doesn't want to go fine.

Phil Jackson has a long history of doing this with Kobe. Ask anyone in the NBA - this is his way of communicating with players. It worked when he was a coach (well, Kobe hated his guts), but maybe doesn't work so well as a part-time executive.

The Kobe - Melo parallels with Phil actually run kinda deep. Phil hated Kobe and thought he held the ball too long and wanted him traded. Kobe almost requested a trade. When they chips, it was all good. The seasons they didn't, it boiled over a lot.

Not saying Melo is on Kobe's level as a player - he is not. But Kobe and Melo have similar relationships with Phil. It's the sort of thing that if it works and you win, it's like "you wily old coot, you brought that out of me," but if you're losing it's like "man, shut up, old man"... and Kobe told Phil to shut up and more plenty of times. Look back at the Lakers in 2006-7, before the Gasol trade.

EnySpree wrote:One could say Melo is speaking to msg through Wade, cp3 and Lebron. All three seem to have alot to say about our team. But no that doesn't stroke the narrative

I actually think this might be kinda true. I think it's more likely that his friends have his back because they see he's in a shitty situation. And they also think Oak got treated like crap.

He speaks that way too. Remember goink? I still don't know wtf that means.... but people want to interpret posse as being racist and that he's feeding info to 2 sports writers and that one tweet means a million bad things.... it doesn't and none of this is related. Phil is a flip top jackass that happens to be one of the best basketball mins on the planet.

Forget the drama.... Phil managed to upgrade the talent and prepare for the future. If we make the playoffs, we stll have things on place to make a slash at the draft. If we don't make the playoffs then it will be a bigger splash. It's like chill the fuck out and see what's really going on. Phil gave Melo that no trade clause. How could he be disrespectful to him if he gave him that? Melo being here doesn't change anything.... trading Melo on the other hand enhances what this draft will look like. Doesn't matter really. That's what Phil intended from day one.

How so? Iso melo ensures no coach can ever implement their system- the only coach melo liked was Woody and that's because he just ran iso-melo on offense in close games.

Keeping Melo means, more of the same for the next two years, it hinders KPs development, He'll keep getting frozen out of the offense and won't get a lot of experience in close games because Melo will almost always take the last shot. Keeping Melo means your franchise player doesn't play defense. Keeping Melo means you've tied your ship to a player who would rather beat Phil in a p-ing contest than win a championship. Phil was trying to pressure Melo to go- that was noble intent because it needs to happen, keeping Melo does nothing at this point for us or him.

I remember JVG used to call players out in the press all the time, now one tweet (which was 100% the truth) is treated like genocide, it's pathetic.

That's false about Woody only ran ISO Melo..Woody mostly ran a hybrid of MDA PnR with Felton ..He did run ISO Melo as well..Nic was giving credit to MDA for Woody's success if I remembered correctly..
