What Can oak bring to the table that so many of applaude, really quantify?
1. He can tell players to get tough. Like him.
2. he can tell don't let anyone touch you. Like him.
3. He can not take crap from other players, like him.
4. He an then tell players to go easy, not get flagrant fouls....
6. He can tell them they can't hand check. like he did.
7 He can show them solid fundamentals, like he didn't have.
8. He can tell them to box out. Like he did.
Oak has not been involved in the game now for a few years. he did one year as an assistant coach after Mike bought the Bobcats. He got beaten up by some security guards in Vegas at a Mikey Jordan event. Always the victim.
You can't teach team the heart, soul and passion that Oak had.
I admire his passion, but also resent that he used it for his own gain and made a public spectacle last week.
Players won't come here because Of melo? Respected him and gave him everything he wanted. We treat how many players badly?
Name them.
Melo got tweeted. Thats rough.
Marbury.
Spree.
Who else? Ewing wanted out and he kind of let his ego get the best of him. We respected him by his last contract. He admits he should have retired a knick. He knows he messed up. And he was welcome back over and over.
Who else?
And did they deserve some sort of to some extent?
Im mad at Oak for creating a situation. that was not cool I don't care about the media right not and its popular hate on the knicks and they are screwed for ever and ever. Thats a load of crap. Lebron went back to be employed by Dan Gilbert. CP3 worked for Sterling, and lord knows Reinsdorf done empowered Krause back in the day!!!!!! When we have a product on the floor worthy of coming to, the rest will fall into place.
I thought I was the only Knick Fan that was not on the side of Charles Oakley? The whole thing was an embarrassment, but knick fans are putting it ALL on Dolan and the knicks??? Both sides were wrong in how they handled it. It was just refreshing to see I was not alone.
Look the idea that a former great doesn't schedule a meeting but instead claims that going to the game, hurling insults, and then wanting to publicly confront the owner is bizarre.
Oakley is a big intimidating guy who can't do stuff like his without consequence.
I like that Dolan offers Oakley help with the anger issue.
I was at the denver contest and the Free Oakley stuff was lame and half-hearted - a distraction.

Im on the side of not taking "sides" and taking my frustrations out on this conflict.
There is not winner or loser here. There is the sad case of Oak instigating on the insane gulag that is MSG.
The winner is the media who fuels the fans to channel against the little white rich guy who bought the big OAK down!
Media now tells us How pathetic this organization is, no free agents ever wanted here, or ever will, and even KP should consider his future!!!
Phuch that. Consider one thing, its the very media that has perpetuated the legend of OAK and has aided greatly to create this divide.
Its also NY that loves its hustle players and is very devoted to their players!
KP should understand that Fans love him and could have a long bond with this kid. We love rookies, and passion play.
Maybe thats whats missing with Melo. He is not leaving it all out there and fans Know better. I always appreciated Ewings effort and passion. It soured on him when he didn't want to get out of the way of progress.
Sound familiar?
