The whole Melo thing with Phil just adds to it...Poorly run organization and continues to be..
This sort of thing doesn't help. Phil is involved just enough to muck things up.
Reed, who talks to Jackson often after playing with him on the Knicks’ only two title teams in the 1970s, said the Zen Master’s biggest regret is he hasn’t found a coach like him. Jackson has had four during his reign: Mike Woodson, Derek Fisher, Kurt Rambis and now Hornacek.“At this point, he wishes he had been able to do is create another Phil Jackson,’’ Reed said. “That would be the most satisfying thing. With all the rings he has, he’d like to transfer all that knowledge and ability to get people to play at a certain level.’’

So now he isn't happy with Hornacek??..He wants people to play at a certain level but doesn't have the talent capable of playing at that level...One of my biggest disappointment is the lack of talent he has added to play defense...Sort of reminds me of the all time greats given a different role and expects their replacements or person in the same role to perform the same..MJ and Bird had that issue...They initially were slow to adapt...Magic too..

Kerr and Lou what do they have in common? Yes they took over a team ready to compete for a championship. They are the Phil Jackson clones or protege because they did what Phil did. Now Phil needs to get that formula get the team ready to compete for a championship and have one of his protégés step in and take the next step. Hard part is getting the necessary talent.

Mark Jackson laid a foundation and instilled something in these young players that have shaped them into wanting to be great players...I don't think enough is being said about that..The way GS shoot the ball and play is well beyond Kerr...Walton taking over as coach showed you that..But that said, Kerr made some huge adjustments when they were down 3-1 in two series(Cavs, Memphis?) to turn the team around..That's when I knew he was legit...Tyron Leu has a totally different philosophy than Phil..Bron is the key and we are learning the JR addition was huge...They are different without JR...So are we by the way...
