Make it happen, captain!
Clueless about the money fit but when you think about teams, coaches and philosophies it makes a ton of sense for all 3
Harrison Barnes and a 2017 first rounder is highway robbery, and there's just no reason I believe Cuban would do that deal. It makes no sense for Dallas. They trade a younger player in his prime, who is having a career season, a first round pick which could be a lottery pick AND Seth Curry for K-Love and a 2nd round pick?
Come on. This deal can not be true. It would get out there, I don't believe the Knicks wouldn't jump on this.

Ha, thats not the mumblings I was talking about- the mumblings were just that the Mavs and Knicks were in discussions, I think then Dee or Bob just made the actual players up, there is no way in hell that trade would happen, the numbers don't even work

I would never do that deal- I'd much rather use the Suns to offload Love- they have a chance of having a top 3 pick in this years draft, plus you get get a young player off them (one of the Bfs they drafted last year- neither looks great and they wouldn't need both if they had Love)
Hmmm- would you send KOQ or Lee the Pacers first rounder?:
The Indiana Pacers are shopping their 2017 first round pick in order to improve their roster immediately around Paul George. The Pacers would like to acquire either an established wing or frontline player.
The draft is considered one of the strongest in recent memory.
Indiana also traded their first round pick last year to acquire Thaddeus Young.
With Paul George able to opt out of his contract in 2018, the Pacers have a small window to build a title-level supporting cast around him.

I just hate the tweet... like It's always Phil that's perceived as stupid and holding things up. What's stupid is thinking this deal is real. The Knicks get the best deal in this trade. 3 possible starters? Young starters at that. Rebuild on roids

I find that tweet funnier the more I think about it- Knicks would offload their worst contract, get a good player and a top pick and set curry who's a nice player. Total BS of a rumor

Not sure I agree. They are in need of their face of the franchise as dirk retires. If they think love is healthy (long term) makes total sense. Also consider the coach. Love fits in the mold of celts and ex-celts thinking.
Curry is a good player but any good team knows they can find players like him every year.

It's not that lop-sided. Hey I was asking for Barnes last year and was ridiculed for it. He's a very good player. But both the cavs and Dallas are getting real value. Dallas gets a guy that is a centerpiece you can build around (Barnes is not that guy). Cavs get a weapon to better contend w GS
This deal makes sense
Not sure Briggs loves Barnes, but its a wet dream scenario for him!!!!!
I think Barnes can be a very good alpha point of the triangle.
Its the type of trade the Mav's like to make, but its dumb as hell.
The draft pick makes no sense. Take that out, it starts to.
Jennings and Melo for Barnes with Love in Texas is solid. What makes it bogus is Clev has to give more salary out. Melo is 28mil and jennings is 5mil when annualized. the Money is not going to work.
Does Indy want Rose? what do they need/want to make a run?
Im all for knicks to tank providing they sell for picks, Yoot. Problem is Melo. He is not one to rebuild with as he does that thing he don't do..........

If that's the Mavs first round pick in the deal it's almost as good as the Knicks pick. That's an insane deal. It can't be true.
Also why would the Mavs want Love? To play next to Nowitzki? To replace Nowitzki? It makes no sense for the Mavs.

If i'm Dallas i'd rather have H.Barnes over K.Love. I'd love for this trade to happen but no way does it happen.

How does it make sense for the Mavs? Taking on Noah's contract? Losing a top pick AND their best player

Correct Mavs wouldn't just have Barnes, they also get to add a top player from the draft too with their lottery pick

I don't know about the picks. But love would eventually replace dirk
Theyd also have a big team if they sneak into playoffs and have a very smart coach who knows how to exploit any mismatch
If this deal were true (which it isnt) it would be one our best moves the recent memory besides drafting KP
newyorker4ever wrote:Melo was excused because he was a late addition and is getting there later then the other players.
Too much boring reality for this thread unfortunately
Remember that awful deadline deal where we traded for Steve "Washed up and doesn't want to be here" Francis, to pair up with Marbury. Did we trade for Jalen Rose that same year too? Horrific stuff!
