Knicks · Will the Knicks make a deadline trade? (page 1)

I sure hope so. Even getting some 2nd rounders would be good
CrushAlot @ 2/20/2017 9:07 PM
I am curious to see if the Knicks end up wit Rubio or Reggie Jackson.
crzymdups @ 2/20/2017 9:15 PM
I don't think anything is going to happen, except maybe something small like KOQ for a second round pick.
CrushAlot @ 2/20/2017 9:17 PM
Realgm has the Clips and Celtics discussing a Blake deal.

I won't expect any moves. I am hopeful something is done.
I believe the Knicks have better trade assets this season than last, even though this year we have just as bad a record. There is more talent this year's team and some better recognition.

We could snatch a few second round picks for sure. It would also mean Phil is quitting on the season and on his coach Hornachek. Not really Phil's style. I can't see us tank. I think we'll actually try to upgrade if possible. We should go for a rebuild, but the primary block in that is trading Melo, which is not an easy process. So if Melo is on the roster, you're not going to see them make him play with Kristaps and D-League talent. I think if Melo's staying past deadline, we'll not be sellers. We'll actually be looking to buy, if anything.

Wrong tactics for sure but the way things are going with Melo, I can't see this team adopt a full re-build/tank the season process.

I see things differently. I think Jennings is pretty sure he is out the door. It might be in a package for a point guard (i.e. Rubio or RJax). Realgm posted on twitter that the Celtics and Clips have discussed a deal for Blake where the Clips essentially get what the Knicks want from the Celtics. Could some of that then be flipped to NY for Melo? I think that might be the one chance Melo leaves. The Knicks could get Crowder or Smart, a pick and then some salary filler. It also might allow Doc to keep his boy.

Boston Celtics official instagram account apparently just started following Melo, leading to a ton of Melo to Boston speculation.

I agree if the Boston trade happens with Blake then a Melo trade has a better shot of happening. Austin Rivers is not enough for Phil to push forward, but add a Marcus Smart or Jae Crowder, I think Phil goes for it.

My money would still be on Knicks not making a move, and trying to make a run for the playoffs. The Knicks already have two second round picks in 2017. They have their own first rounder. I think Phil is angling for players who have a few years experience and on the upward end of their career in athletic peak.

What in the world would Boston want to do in uniting Isiah Thomas, Melo, Horford in one lineup?
I'd laugh if that happened. Boston would set themselves back and screw up all the hard work Ainge did to get the team back to where it is with good re-building after KG/Pierce/Allen/Rondo were let go.

I wonder if this is their back up deal to getting Blake. Boston always over values its players. My guess is the price tag for Melo is a bit less. Boston is a little bit like the Rockets before they got Harden and Dwight. They have been collecting assets for a long time.

I just looked up stats comparing Jar Crowder and O'quinn. What's the requirement for Crowder when per 36 min OQuinn
Fares as well or better. Not as strong defensively but better boards and blocks. I know KO plays 5 but with Noah inept, isn't KO worth holding ?
