Knicks · Oakley Wsa Treated Like a Black man at a trump rally. Had Enough? (page 1)

James Dolan gave $300,000 to Trump campaign as the rest of the NBA went to the left

So much for attracting elite free agents. So much for players of conscience from around the globe.

The whole world is watching

NardDogNation @ 2/23/2017 9:43 PM
Dude, do you think Dolan was the only NBA owner to contribute? With exception to Prohkrov (a foreigner), the Toronto group that owns the Raptors, Michael Jordan, Leslie Alexander, Micky Arison and Ted Leonsis, I think they ALL are Republican. Maybe Mark Cuban broke ranks but I'd bet the others all voted their party and not their country. Do you think that no free agent will ever go to those teams?
nyk4ever @ 2/23/2017 9:44 PM

Hell, the family that owns the Magic has members in the goddamn cabinent! Will no free agent ever to ORL?

They elected a child that they knew was a child, to the detriment of the country. Then again, billionaires seem to regularly do shit that destroys the environment, the legacy of our democracy and the well-being of its citizens....so these election results are about par for the course.

Yup. And I'm sure the billionaires that he stocked his cabinet with and his supporters amongst NBA owners voted for him because of his policies that favor the average-Joe.

People of the world are looking at America in amusement and think... "We wish we will have you problems of who is going to what bathroom or such..."

Trump is a disgrace but his people love him. The Democrats have a major problem. We as Democrats support the poor which is unpopular. We support the gays that is unpopular. And as far as the Christian Right I mean those Christian Right the ones who bombed black churches in the south in the 50s and 60s they voted Trump and If God came down and wraped his arms around us blacks, The Christian right would probably make a pack with the devil.

The "other" that you described- and that the Right hates- has become the majority of the country. The problem is that those people don't vote. But as much as the Republican Party has built a platform on screwing the country, the real issue has always been the Democrats. They've sold out for decades, which has contributed to an indifference amongst its base. A former Bernie staffer put it best: the purpose of the party isn't to support progressive ideals, it is to marginalize popularist candidates. And that's what they did to Bernie. That is what they will continue to do, with their superdelegates. It's why I've become an independent, while trying to help reform the party in my state. But if they don't shape up, I'll be either voting Green on a national ticket or join the party that Bernie's staffer is starting.

It is all politics

Nyk4ever - as athletes find their voice, politics will overlap into their decision making more and more. The fact that the beloved Charles Oakley was forcibly ejected sent a clear message, in the exact manner that trumps rthugs sent a message during the campaign.

Having just visited London, the mood is overwhelmingly negative against trump. International players are paying close attention and are directly affected by 45 policies. If you think his politics do not erode the Dolan negotiating position, you are not paying attention to the big picture.

Watch and learn as portzingis and Hermangomez take notes.

if you live in areas where coal is mined the quality of water will change as those energy companies can now dump their mine waste directly waterways and streams. Those lives will change quickly.

Trump appointed an EPA head in bed with big energy who will immediately release restrictions on fracking as well further damaging natural waterways.

So there will be an immediate and long term negative effect to many who enjoy things like the outdoors, fishing, fresh air.. things like that.

Plenty will change and Trump has not yet had to navigate anything challenging yet.
