I love Lonzo Ball but his dad is a huge distraction.
Knicks could pick between 1-10... give me a top ten mock draft according to who the Knicks should pick.
Based on the knicks needs, right now I would go
1. Fultz
2. Ball
3. Jackson
4. Smith
5. Monk
6. Tatum
7. Ntilikina
8. Fox
9. Isaac
10. Bridges
Ball has sick talent but hos family distractions seriously concern me. I don't hear good things.
Jackson. I don't know why so many people are this high on this draft. Why is Fultz so well regarded? Will be be better than John Wall or D. Rose?
fultz = wade (slashing ability) + curry (shooting)
Disclaimer: i'm not saying they ARE wade or curry. he just has those skills sets

He's sort of like Lillard. I don't see any franchise players in this draft, but a lot of really good players.

Some drafts are top heavy with not much after the top 5 and this draft just has a lot of quality deep
Into it. I'm glad we have 3 picks. There are players I like that aren't even showing up in the draft boards. There's a lot of opportunities in this draft. Hopefully we hit on a couple 😁
I think Ball is the one that will have the most impact. I see a player who will control the game with a balance of passing, scoring and defense much like Jason Kidd.
I would be good with Smith or Monk. The Knicks will need to to get into the 4-6 range, and think they can legitimately do that. As is - this team is bad, and last night showed that against a depleted 76ers team - there is no pride or structure that will see this team win more than 6-7 more games this year. Signing Noah to a ridiculously stupid 4 year deal was bad, and even at $6M-$7M, Lance Thomas is pure garbage, but Phil outdid himself hiring a snot-nosed loser like Hornacek as coach. Mark Jackson needs to be the new coach come next season, and hopefully Phil will get the axe.

Ok you don't like the Noah deal. That's fair. Don't know why you're picking on a role player like LT. Really don't get the "snot nosed loser" comment about Hornacek. You seem to have anger for the wrong people IMO. I wonder what % of blame you place on the team's best player?
I could hang it all on Melo if that's what you are getting at, but he's the least of this team's problems. For $7M, Lance Thomas is trash and for 4 years? As for Hornacek - once again - how do guys like O'Quinn, Baker, Willy, and Kous get such sporadic PT from this coach. Willy and O'Quinn have put up double/doubles on a few occasions, and barely see the court in the game that follow. Kous has shown he deserves a regular spot in the rotation, but can't seem to get much PT over a stretch of games. Sorry - this roster has flaws for sure, but there is some talent here that could be better utilized and that is on the coach.

I can't say that I follow your points. Willy is starting and KOQ plays meaningful minutes. Kuz often has foul problems and had a very poor shooting stretch that led to his reduced minutes. Baker could play more but really that's not a make or break decision.
I just think this is a weak argument against Hornacek. Even with increased minutes or more consistent minutes that doesn't mean this team would necessarily have won more games. It's possible but I wouldn't place a high degree of faith in that argument.
Inconsistent PT for players - especially young players is detrimental to their development. At 16-13, I can see why they may not have gotten steady PT, but now? Like it or not - this team is in rebuild mode despite having veterans like Melo, Lee, Rose, and Noah around - that veteran core is not getting it done. Winning games is not what this season is about anymore - it's about figuring out what these kids can do with steady PT, and sticking with them. That's what 24-35 teams do. Benching Kous, Baker because they hit rough patches makes no sense when the guys you would rather play aren't getting it done either. It's a delusion if this team continues to chase a playoff spot thinking that's more of a priority than developing the young players they brought in.
I've seen enough "senseless and needless" winning over the years by bad Knicks teams. The type of "winning" that was just "good enough" to get them Gallinari (instead of Westbrook) and Hill (instead of Curry). The deadline had reset potential by dealing guys like Rose and Lee, but stubborness and fear overrode that. 24-35 teams should be in sell mode and playing kids every chance they get. Sure kids struggle, but what else is this year about? Letting Rose prove his worth for new contract wih another team? Holding on to Lee longer than you need to?

It's hard to tell with PGs unless they have elite athleticism. Everyone had a good idea wall, Rose and Westbrook would eventually be stars, but it's harder to gauge guys like Lillard, curry or fredette. That said, I hope we don't make the mistake of reaching for a guy just because he fills a need at PG.
Lonzo Ball is a franchise changing talent...His IQ is off the charts. His dad is a problem though...Dad needs to chill in the cut and let his son shine. Way too distracting.
I love the potential of Jonathan Issacs too...6'10 small forward who can shoot and run. Reminds me of Durant in college. Not as good, obviously, but he can be really good. We need to get into the top 5.

I trust Gaines to actually do his job of properly evaluating the overall talent. He's a true scout and I think he really helps this team make better decisions with young talent. It's a tough job unless you're talking about overwhelming can't miss talent. I REALLY like the talent in this draft. We need to start adding more 2 way talent. More guys that GET IT and don't have to be sold on the idea of Team Ball or hustling on defense.

Unclear where the Knicks will pick, but I like Jayson Tatum out of Duke and Justin Jackson out of UNC. I think Tatum will likely be in the range of where the Knicks will probably pick. If they get a high lottery pick, I don't see much stock personally in Fultz or Ball. Some of the centers ( Patton and Allen) will climb up the board naturally via positional value. Big men always get some juice as the draft gets closer.
Issacs is a fascinating player. His combination of skills is pretty rare to see altogether in one player. I can see him being a push/pull type player where teams will start to value him all over the board by the draft. His ball handling and court vision are pretty advanced for his age/experience level.
I don't think Jackson falls out the bottom of the first round, but if he does, he would be a nice early 2nd round target.
If the Knicks get a top lottery pick, I think trading back if they can is the best long term move. However the same reason they'd want to fall back is the same reason most teams wouldn't want to move forward.
I think it's too early to really figure out true ADP for some of these guys, but I like Tatum quite a bit and I think he's going to be around the range of where the Knicks would pick.
