It's not easy to build good teams year in and year out. The Knicks management has made big mistakes with moves like Noah and some others, but we are not the only team to go through this or suffering because we run the Triangle offense.
Changes are needed but there are quite a few teams like us believe it or not who don't run the Triangle or have a president who tweets.

You're making too much sense. IMO the clear issue is that with the Knicks we have Melo and Rose who take a lot of shots and get a lot of touches but don't make anyone else better. They also don't defend and literally ruin the team's defense. So not only do they ruin the flow on Offense but they weaken the defense too.
It's time to move on and this summer we have 3 Picks and Cap Space. Seems like more upgrades are what is needed.

The main goal is not to run circles... We did for almoust 20 years.

The Hornets lost a bunch of players from last year's team, namely Courtney Lee and Al Jefferson. They've also had injuries that have forced them to start Feank Kaminsky.
The Bucks had a devastating season ending injury to Jabari Parker right when Khris Middleton returned from a torn hamstring that kept him out the first 50 games.
Those are injury issues and players lost to roster turnover.
And yes the Knicks should be better than both teams but they're far worse. So what's your point again?

They have an all star in Kemba
A good coach in Clifford

Kp hasn't been himself since Achilles
Thomas is a key player injured
Rose was in and out
Noah was in and out with injuries
The main thing you want from your team is to try and put together the most talent they can and draft well (value picks). I think the team did that this past season it just didn't work out.

The knicks couldn't sign any other FA last summer.. Rose convinced Noah to signed, and Noah convinced Lee to sign. Last season Melo convinced AA to sign, KOQ is actual from NY, and Lopez was gun ho about playing close to his brother.
Players are convinced to sign somewhere more so by other good players. Even though KD like GSW presentation, it was calls from the players that sealed the deal

“The whole first season we played nothing but the triangle. I know it pretty well. I like the offense. It can only work if everyone believes in it and everyone executes it the right way. We’re starting to learn it the way we should.’’
That's the future of the franchise there

Players that can only impact the game with iso plays, will kill the triangle offense. On top of that, as Nix already said.....These same guys (Rose and Melo), who dominate the ball, and interrupt triangle flow, also kill us on defense. Its like trying to play ball in Timberlands....
The reason why it worked in the past, wasn't just because Phil had the best player(s) in the NBA. But his best players also had enough skill to impact the game, without holding the ball the entire possession just to score. Melo is coming around to it. But as KP said, it only takes one player (Rose) to interrupt the triangle, and cause players to hesitate on cuts or simple stand and watch, like fans.
If you don't trust the guy with the ball, to pass it when you are open on cuts, then you tend to cut less....or over think your movements. That's the only weakness with the triangle, it takes an entire team. But if we had a PG that has the IQ and outside shooting to be affective in the triangle, we will be a different team. I don't see that PG answer in a rookie out of college. Therefore, we will continue to have the same problems next year.
