yep- for ***** SAKE! We've now fallen all the way to being tied for the 11th pick- one more win and we're down to 13th. What the **** is wrong with this franchise.

They have been tanking since Dwight left. They've been drafting in the lottery every year it seems since Dwight got traded.
In that time have they even got 1 player as good as Kristaps? Their commentators were slobbering all over KP.
Just because we tank, and say draft 5th instead of 10th, it does not guarantee us a better player longterm.
We were the 2nd worst team in 2015, end up drafting 4th. But I'm almost 100% sure we got the 2nd best player in that draft and maybe someone special (to be seen).

We need to just keep evolving and developing. Majority of this team is back next season. I see some changes, but not an overhaul like in previous years. What we need to do is iron out how we want to play, and see what players need to work on in the summer, and also who we want back at what price.

I think Lance Thomas is an integral part for us. I even dare say we should be thinking of starting him next season, and pushing KP to work on his post base strength and become a starting 5 that can play some 4. Or trade Melo, and start Lance at 3 in his place, getting a starter for Melo.

Anyway point is, team has to move forward and I'd like to see us compete hard and show that we care about wearing the orange and blue. Do fans really think it's a good idea for KP, Willy and these guys to play games just to put up numbers and not care at the end result? I see so many teams tank every year and some do it for a 4-5 year run. It's the exception to the rule that you end up becoming great for it.

I'm ok with a 9th or 10 pick and finishing with 32-34 wins. Talent is talent. If we scout well, know who we want and how he fits in the program, someone drafted outside of the top 8 can also be a major player for you.

Would you rather have a top 4 pick or the 13th pick? Look- it BASIC facts- the higher your pick, the better your odds of drafting a top talent because you have more players to choose from and less teams that you hope don't see the greatness in the player you like. What is so hard to see?!?! Is it guaranteed? No, but it gives you a better chance. You also then have the option of trading down for an additional asset if you're so enamoured with the idea the 10th pick is better than a top 4.

If Isiah drafted him you would be able.

Na... Im sticking with what works.

KP is a great prospect and has already shown the ability to take over games on both ends. The only question will be his health and his motor. Does he have the kind of motor that will make him an elite player or will we just have to settle for a guy who's a borderline all star every year and probably makes that game several times. Time will tell. He's got a lot to learn and thats ok. Developing players is a process most Knick fans arent aware of.

I fully expect KP to gain strength as he matures. He's already gotten stronger than when we drafted him. Most thought it would take YEARS for KP to even be able to contribute but he did that from day one! Kid just needs to keep gradually maturing at his own pace.

Or we can win 10, miss out on the playoffs and end up with the 14th pick in the draft. Brilliant.

Draft is a lottery anyway, if we go to playoffs, we can sign bigger names in free agency because we wont look such a loosers anymore

If this team makes the playoffs I expect they will resign Rose! It's just a hunch but given the options and how tough it is to pry FA's from their team's they may decide Rose is low hanging fruit.

sure... but plenty of guys have overcome that as well. People never thought Tayshaun Prince could be a real NBA player with that body and dude played 82 games every season. KP isnt scrawny. He's got muscle. He's got a ton of learning on how to effectively use his length. When he does my god watch out.

These guys came in at the same age... this skinny jumpshooter won an MVP and title

Nobody is handing KP anything, but most though we really whiffed when we fell to 4 and were sure to miss Towns/OK4/Russell. KP is easily the #2 pick in that draft right now with Myles Turner prob #3.

It's not a skinny thing, it's a strength thing..He is easily push off balance...Guys who post have to be able to create space and to get their opponents off balance to get their shots off..But I hope you are right..He will be a good player no matter what I think..Just not sure how high that ceiling is...I won't sell the farm to build around him...I would however, look at him as an important piece...

Phi doesnt sell the farm remember? That was the other guy

Lets put KP in perspective. How many better prospects are there in the league? Can you say name 5 guys who are better and still on rookie contracts? Towns, GreekFreak, Jokic is in the discussion. Myles Turner looks great but not clearly better than KP. Who else? I mean we are talking about one of the best prospects in the league. If he's not worth building around name me the guys who are as I am clearly lost on the subject!

Add Wiggins to that list... KP still in the top 5.

PLUS the things holding KP back are MINOR fixable things like getting stronger and refining his post moves or taking better shots. Just getting more aggressive. I mean KP is MUCH closer to getting to a franchise level than people realize. There's no rush or need to panic. Just let the kid develop at his own pace.

Embiid, OK4, Parker(hurt), have to wait on Ben Simmons??...Wow, three are Sixers...People are sleeping on OK4, he put up the second best rook stats last year..But on that list, there are maybe three guys I'm building around..Embiid, Freak, and Towns...

KP is a good player...I'm concerned about the wear and tear on his frame and depending on that the next decade...

Embiid, Parker and Simmons already had worse health issues than KP! KP is a top tier talent and worth building around.

I know... WTF.. .you want to build around guys who cant get on the floor. Embiid is 22 and has played like 30 NBA games. Ben Simmons has not played so you cant rank him in front of KP. Parker is an excellent prospect. Better than KP? Why? OK4 has looked good. Not nearly as good as KP.

If Willy wins ROY its really gonna chap your ass
