Knicks · Just accept as long as Jim Dolan owns this team (page 1)

we will stink. Its the common denominator

Wish he would get out of our lives. But the bastard stays with us out of spite. Only hope maybe is that his focus on putting the islanders in queens can satisfy his fix of owning a sports team.

Also the MSG tax benefit will come to an end. Which means they pay the new tax or move.

Correlation does not prove causation- he's had nothing to do with any moves since Phil got here. I think the main area he will next hinder us with is when choosing Phil's successor he'll either go for a friend or a name, rather than the best person available.

All of these years he could've spent his multi millions directly on a proven winning gm. Instead he has focused on the name person and yes men. He's only let dissenting opinion( Larry brown) etc in for very short stints. Do you really believe phil Jackson is this quiet in non Dolan life?

He is quiet, unless he is being critical, then he should not speak up cuz its not cool to be critical of your team, so basically you want him to only say certain things, thus, you would censor him as well.

Some have said they want one of this no name GM guys and Dolan should get out of the way. That was Layden and Grunwald, and Dolan could not. Phil has a vision, he is having a problem fulfilling it. Perhaps his concession to Dolan was keeping Melo, who likely wanted to keep his word to Melo regarding his contract.

At this juncture Dolan was star struck by Phil but we know Dolan could not hand the keys over to some no name young assistant GM and get out of the way.

In any event here we all are arguing the same thing year in and year out. We want "improvement" that "Change" itself cannot be assured. Since nobody can predict the future we can only be critical of what we can see, instead of the alternative that cannot be seen. This concept sells lots of news papers as the media loves to do this with sports fans.

Bascially phil is a renegade who does not go with the masses. Some of you I thought would dig this. Maybe you do, but since the results are not there, its comes off as if phil is "Misguided", "Disinterested", or "Distracted".

It is easy to blame Dolan for the Knicks' predicament since 1999, but he is also a common denominator with the Rangers, and the Rangers have been a quality franchise. So, even though on an emotional level I dislike Dolan, the real reason why the Knicks have been so dysfunctional may lie elsewhere.

Phil has his opt out this summer. The door could be open for a return to LA with the new management in place and Jeane in charge. I would give it 50% odds Phil goes back to the Lakers and his fiance this summer

Dolan isn't interfering. No need to keep bringing him up.

Truth? Yes we stink because we are rebuilding. Rose will be gone... Melo might follow.

As long as Dolan stays away we're going to be fine

Given he has broken his engagement off with Jeannie Buss, They have hired Magic Johnson as president, Pelinka as GM, where would you think he has a fit there?

If he does, Mills is the GM, so I doubt much changes here. Phil seems intent on staying and seeing this thru. 50%? I don't know what has lead you believe he would be leaving? The Lakers are in the hands of Magic Johnson. They have their own problems.
But at the same time they have holding their picks and could have a top 3 pick this draft. Odds are in their favor.

I like the roll that Magic started in as consultant for Phil. It would give him the flexibility to work with players and be involved in team direction and decision making. There was a long interview with Jeanne Buss that has some comments about her relationship with Phil and why it deteriorated. Definitely some room there to rekindle the relationship now that her brother is gone. I'll post the interview if I can find it.
