Knicks · OT: Juanco Hernangomez...should we get him? (page 1)

I wonder how his defense is at the forward spots but like his brother, he looks like a good, heady offensive player. What do you guys know about him? Would you give up O'Quinn and possibly other minor assets for him to form Hernangomez-Squared?

I remember hearing someone say he was the better of the 2 brothers...have not seen enough of him. Nice offensive player, but I'm not sure if he will be an adequate defender.

Would not mind having him, but you really have to look at how much he would cost.

I haven't seen enough of Juancho to determine who is the better of the two but his skillset does intrigue me off the bench. We need a bench big that can come in and replace either Willy or Porzingis as the 4-man defensively. Juancho might fit that profile and him being related to Willy leads me to believe that there would be good on-court synergy with them. I'm just concerned about the defensive end because that bench big should be a player that can effectively switch on the 1-4 pick and roll and be able to contain his man. Not sure that Juancho has that or could develop into that at 21 years old.

He's a different player. He's a small fwd. He runs the floor and shoots threes. His game is like Chandler Parsons. He's got a edge to him though

I doubt the nuggets are trading Juanco but the answer is yes you give up O'quinn. I'd even give up a top 10 protected 1st in 2018.

I doubt they trade him away. Gallo and The Mayor might be gone this off season.

Do you think that he is a surefire starter in this league? What makes you value him so highly?

Quite possibly. So might Plumlee who could get overpaid this offseason, which might allow us an in. If that occurs, I think the security and skillset of an O'Quinn becomes just that much more valuable to them.

Would you pursue Juan Hernangomez if the asking price involved taking Kenneth Faried's contract?

absolutely but I doubt Denver would do that because they think Faried still has value which he should.

Does he really though? It feels like he's been on the block every year but doesn't get moved because of his defense, poor spacing and supposedly diva-ish attitude. Rumors are rumors but where there is smoke, there is fire.

I could use his efficiency and rebounding off the bench
