Knicks · If we can move the 2019 pick top 5 restricted to 2017 (page 1)

and get John Collins--that would be my strategy. Were going to get a G or SF in the top 7 and in our 2nd round picks.
By adding an uber athletic 6-10 PF who can block shots rebound play 3 feet over the rim hit the open mid range and --probably the best rebounder in the draft. He could be the third wheel used as the athletic piece to play with Willy G or KP which keep pressure on the opposing team for 48 minutes.
The theory is if hes available use the draft pick NOW instead of 2019 to expedite rebuilding and betting John Collin s with two years in will be vastly superior to anything coming out 2019 after 5.
I think hes a top 5 pick today even in this deep draft--but if hes going to be discounted--we should look at this angle.

I like this idea, particularly if we can trade Melo and pick up a couple of future firsts (e.g., 2021 unprotected and 2023 protected top-5) from the Clippers.

New crush Briggs?

I like the idea too but I don't know if he's better than KOQ right now. His skill set isn't hard to find in the nba. With KP and Willy here a third wheel would be nice. He does strike me as a Taj Gibson type... but like I said we have KOQ
meloshouldgo@ 3/28/2017 7:40 PM
For a third string PF, I would just get Nigel Hayes

I've had him as a top 5 pick for 2 months. He is Blake Griffinesque but with more upside on the D because of length.

Based on all the games you've seem him play right the guy avg 30 points 16 rebounds and 2.5 blocks per 40 min while shooting 63% and he has the best advanced stats of any player in the draft

Briggs - you can't trade our 2019 pick.
Look - I think you said this- KP is 2-3 years away from being physically mature enough to be a force in this league. We have to build with that timeline.
Cheating is what's f'd this franchise in the past.
We were worse this year than expected. We will probably be just as bad next, and the following year will be when things start to turn - but I doubt we're in the play offs.
Now - if we could trade our 2 2nd rounders and move into the first- or perhaps trade all three picks for 2 picks mid 1st - maybe you do that.

He doesn't look 6'10". Sorry but I don't like trading future #1 picks. We have to get out of that habit
