Knicks · Ewing gets the Georgetown job... (page 1)

WaltLongmire @ 4/3/2017 2:42 PM
Just heard it on SAS.

Feel good for him.

crzymdups @ 4/3/2017 2:44 PM
Good for him. Following in John Thompson's footsteps. Happy for the Big Fella.
nixluva @ 4/3/2017 2:47 PM
Happy for him. That's a great job and I'm sure he's proud to represent his school.
Uptown @ 4/3/2017 2:48 PM
Happy for Pat...But as a Gtown fan, I hope Ewing is up for coaching college and what it all entails...It's different than the NBA...More than X's and O's, college coaches have to be car salesmen, work the phones 24hrs, constant travel for recruiting, etc. It's a 365 day job...hardly any days off. For Ewing and GTowns sake, I hope he's up for it...Go Hoyas!!!
franco12 @ 4/3/2017 2:57 PM
it's too bad he never got a shot to be the HC for the Knicks. I thought he could of worked out nicely.

Maybe CBB is where he will find further success.

fishmike @ 4/3/2017 2:58 PM
Great for Pat. I hope he does well there.
holfresh @ 4/3/2017 2:59 PM
The "Hoya Destroya" goes home!!!!...
BRIGGS @ 4/3/2017 3:08 PM
Good for Ewing--G town did the right thing.. Wont be an easy job--not the pro's with all of the intangibles to the job.
BigDaddyG @ 4/3/2017 3:14 PM
Hope they realize it's going to take. Take Mullin at St. John's for example. The learning curve is steep and I'm not even talking about recruiting and rules. Wish the big fella luck. I hope he gets some quality recruiters on his staff.
Moonangie @ 4/3/2017 3:29 PM
That's a solid role to start his head coaching career. Next stop maybe NBA if he's any good.
EnySpree @ 4/3/2017 3:33 PM
Good news man....

The curse is over... karma is changing

dacash @ 4/3/2017 3:35 PM
i hope it works out for the big fella good luck pat
CrushAlot @ 4/3/2017 3:52 PM
Great news. Hope he has a ton of success there.
holfresh @ 4/3/2017 4:26 PM
It will be interesting to see what style Ewing runs at G-Town...Known as a low post player and coach, how does he adapt to the relatively new perimeter oriented style of play...Will he be able to recruit and will today's young players know who he was...

I live outside of Rochester and they were talking about a kid, Isaiah Stewart, who is ranked 42nd in his class, being a huge Ewing and Georgetown fan right after the hire was announced. I think Patrick's fame still helps him.

I hope so man..Ewing is my all time favorite Knick...He rescued the franchise in the 80s and made the games watchable for over a decade...They gave Chicago all they could handle..He works hard..Good things usually happen when you work hard...

Checked out video and he wears 33...Nice!!!

callmened @ 4/3/2017 5:38 PM
im happy for pat. he has paid his dues. hopefully hell get some good assistant coaches to recruit in the talented DMV area
SocraticBallin22 @ 4/3/2017 6:46 PM
oops
NumberTwoPencil @ 4/3/2017 6:54 PM
Tough job but Yay! Go Patrick! He's had a lot of experience over the last couple of years, which should help. Maybe Georgetown will return to its former glory, Patrick will win the 2020 March Madness and he'll have no where to go but head coach of the Knicks!
GustavBahler @ 4/3/2017 7:36 PM
I'm happy for him. Ewing should have gone the college route a long time ago. Glad its his alma mater. Thompson Sr. will have his back. Hope Patrick makes the most of this great opportunity. Remember taking the train to DC to watch him play at GU, back in the day.

Oak can recruit!!!!
Oak come to you house to "ask" you to play. He makes it fast, he slaps the kid around, his mother, Father, Grandma, neighbor, AND coach! Nobody says no to "Touch Me and See What Happens!" Oak!
