Knicks · Trade with Boston for 1# pick (page 1)

TheGame @ 4/6/2017 9:52 AM
We should offer Boston our pick and Melo and Willy for Kelly Olynyk, Terry Rozier, and the Net's pick (assuming it is top-2). We can then draft Josh Jackson, and then try to sign a guy like Teague. Olynyk would probably fit better next to KP, who we can move full-time to the center position. Terry Rozier would compete for our starting PG position. Boston still gets a top-10 pick and Melo and Willy. We get rid of Melo, add young prospects in Olynyk, Rozier, and Josh Jackson who will help solve our defensive problems at SF/PF as well as score.

"We Should".........
I wonder what Boston thinks of the trade?
What does Boston do with Isiah Thomas? He is a free agent and due a pay raise. He is also really small.
Ainge might not want to pay him a max type deal or lose him for nothing. Its a problem, but a good one.
They can actually let him walk and it opens up a bit of cap space. Perhaps a much smaller deal for Melo as they can just fit him on their cap space via trade.
They can draft whom they want, have melo, and keep Olynk.
Say trade us Jae Crowder. It upgrades there 3 short term. Maybe they draft Jackson and develop him behind Melo for two years.

KP will not be a good full time center. He should play the 4 on offense. If Olynyk can defend 4s better than Billy and also score and rebound like Billy then it would be an upgrade.

Boston is happy where they are and probably don't want to mess things up.

what would ALL of the Boston Celtics picks in this upcoming draft worth and what could it land them?
What about the next 2 years?

what about a package deal for CA and Porzinges along with others on both sides?
What if Noah was also packaged in the deal?

Maybe if we're lucky, one of those picks will pan out and get us someone close to Porzingis level potential...

This is a good draft, but its not like there is a clear cut franchise player above all.
Not like two years ago, you had Townes. KP went 4th, I think some might reset that where KP is 2nd.
Thus, picks 1-6 might not be much difference going in. In a few years in hindsight will tell us what we want to know.

This. I mean, Jackson and Tatum are so close right now I would say there's no point, other than getting rid of Melo. But I'm not sure I want to get rid of Melo enough to throw in Willy. I might consider it more if Boston threw in Smart.

Knicks have nothing to offer Boston for the Nets pick !!!

I think that the trade as proposed is overkill on our part but wouldn't mind Melo and our pick for their pick if it's 1st overall. If that were on the table, I'd take it in a heartbeat. It'd be even better if we could expand the deal to include the Kings and then re-route that 1st pick overall to SAC for their two lottery picks.
