i think hes worth a late 1st rd pick, a starter and a bench player
his worth would be based on his past reputation and a knock down scorer. on a good team, hes probably better off the bench
Melo is worth a late first round player. A rotation player. He's 33 doesn't have legs and plays no D. He's gotta play in a team that has a rim protector like the Clippers to hide his deficiencies
The best package I heard for him was a hypothetical Miami one (from Miami Fans) of Winslow and pick 14. If that is offered Phil should take it and run. Austin Rivers and a mid first would work for me as well. Basically a player who has shown they have potential and a first round pick. If more than that comes back in the deal I would want the Knicks to get more. So say the Clippers sent back Crawford, I would hope the Knicks could get a protected pick swap or something. On the flip if Miami just offered Winslow I wouldn't be mad if Phil took that alone as well.
It really depends on the player(s) coming back

Agreed. I also believe some off what Phil said...early knockouts in the first round may get desperate. The problem is can we trade Melo and without taking long term massive salary.

At this point With all that has gone on if Rioes offered Winslow and number14 ....Tat is the closest thing to highway robbery. Take it and run....is and understatement on this deal unless the celts try something

For all the "Fire Phil" storylines a line from the article that caught my eye was "While this is all speculation, don't kid yourself, Phil Jackson has every team considering their possible permutations. Including the Heat. That's why Friday's carnival act was offered in the first place."
so hey its a possibility and the reporter is right, every FO in the league is considering if they would have a chance at Melo. It was noteworthy Phil didn't mention him having a list of names only he would want to go to a contender.

Agreed...great article thanks for posting...that quote was insightful...makes me feel that while everybody is looking at checkers Phil is thinking chess...I hope this is the case
A better question is what is Melo's value after Phil completely torched his leverage and revealed he's desperate to deal Melo. I'd say pretty low. And not because of Melo's ability or value to another team. Because teams know Phil has 100% backed himself into a corner. We ain't getting diddily. Unless diddily is your nickname for Austin Rivers. Then we are getting diddily.
I can't vote until udfas, and older guys with injuries are included. This is just based on the Phil's type.
