Knicks · What is up with KP's tweet? (page 2)

I don't think there is a single Clipper asset Phil would trade KP for.
DeAndre is good but not worth it.
If we dealt KP i think it's for what others have said, Bostons/Nets pick and another asset.

I think most of this is becuse of Phil saying KP is not untouchable and KP skipping the meeting.
But Phil believes in this stuff. Challenge a player put pressure on him to improve.
KP should be taking his touchable status on the team to heart. Work his tail off. Don't follow Melo,KP.

A lot of players just this trade deadline trolled the fans and the media doing something similar. Please don't go overboard over thinking Twitter Emojis.

How many named another team specifically as a joke? I doubt any have.

I am getting tired of all the drama. I am at the point that I want everyone who causes drama gone. This includes KP if he keeps this up. I can't even enjoy my favorite team because there is always some kind of drama going on.

Drama is magnified with knicks. Always been this way. Big media market and competition among writers to get dirt.
Fluff pieces are nice, but dirt/anger sells.

Deal with Knicks like life, if something good happens, enjoy it. If bad, keep it in perspective its entertainment. Worrying and racking the brain to guess is just fun.

The press conference was awful drama, then I quickly looked at phil and thought it was magnificent theater that few teams can duplicate. Cowboys and Lakers only come to mind.

The Oakley thing is crazy and while we are quick to as fans to take sides, that one to me is two adults acting very badly. I admire Oak the player but Oak the retired tough guy is sad. Oak the benevolent dude is cool, but Oak the drama queen is not.

Phil is an über successful person drunk with self confidence and a bit out of his mind. That itself is kind of cool. Pop and Riles are prone to similar outbursts of no crap gonna take moments!

KP and his "Posse" are faired haired euro's we have somehow come to think are just nice boys doing all nice things. Fact is, Tens of millions are at stake and while Janis is no LaVar Ball, he will make mistakes. Its posture and fans have no control.

Best we can do is enjoy the drama, shake our heads from time to time, haven an opinion and boast about being correct in hindsight when no credibility is accounted for.

ESPN released an article where his representatives said it so it's basically him saying it.

Thank goodness he was on hand to notice and delete it so quickly. Strange that someone would go to all the trouble of hacking his account just to post "LA Clippers" and three smiley faces...

Much ado about nothing

Ballmer had an erection that lasted more than four hours and had to see a doctor.

Redick would need to be moved to the Knicks in a sign and trade.

If he can get equal money with a team with a better chance of winning, no dice for the Knicks. The only thing the Knicks can offer him is more years and more money ( AAV) than any other team, if that happens. If the Knicks can offer him a deal into his age 37-38 years, and no one else will, he might go for it.

As for re-trading him, the only way he'd sign and trade with the Knicks is if no other team would offer the same length and years, if they wouldn't do that with NO COMPENSATION going out, why would they trade for him at that level of compensation PLUS the trade assets needed to acquire him?

Baseline point - IF Redick ends up a Knick, no one else wants him for that length of contract and AAV. Moving him again in a deal would be non viable.

That being said, he would space the floor, he would hit the three ball, he can play the wing, he can move well off the ball and sadly even with age and battered, he's a better defender than Melo. From a marketing standpoint, bizarre as it sounds, he's considered a good looking dude, and that would create sort of a draw on the roster for some fan interest. Female fan interest would take a jump in general for the team. The contract would be ugly, and the decline phase would be shaky at best ( a poor mans Ray Allen end of the career type decline)

League calendar year IIRC reboots once the Finals end. Clock strikes midnight EST when someone is drowning in champagne bought by Nike, and it's game on for everyones hot stove aspirations.

If Jackson could trade Zinger for Blake Griffin and his KIA, then he'd do it in a heartbeat.

But the Knicks cannot trade for Griffin as long as Rose's cap hold stays on the roster. When Rose signed that mega deal with the Bulls, he was signed with the designated accelerator in the contract. So was Griffin, by way of the CBA, you can't have two of those kind of players on your roster the same time. The Rose situation would need to be settled before any discussion of a Griffin trade would start. And the Clippers would never make that deal.

Redick is a different story. Redick operationally raises a massive luxury tax question for Steve Ballmer. He did not spend 2 billion to avoid the luxury tax, but Redick going all the way into his age 38 year on a contract that sinks that team, is a massive competitive and financial double hit.

Clippers are stuck. They are past their functional window of opportunity and now all they can do is let that roster die real slow and sign Griffin and Paul to mega money because there aren't really any other options.

Mark Cuban came as close as any of the other owners to basically saying Donald Sterling got railroaded. He might be a jerk, a racist, a thief or anything else you can call him, but the NBA saw a chance to raise the valuation of all franchises with a record sale price and jobbed him of his franchise. (Where was the outrage for the last 20 years before that?) Ballmer is getting a soon to be broken team, that's what he gets. Karma.
