I may by default bring my allegiance over to Monk. I dont love Frank N and I dont think Dennis Smith is a winning type player. Monk in the beginning of the season showed offensive explosion that relatively few have in this draft. Its concerning how he dropped off--his lack of rebounding--I mean there is a lot of flaws but maybe the shooting he can bring trumps everything else there. If he can work hard to develop into a PG maybe --bt Im not sure > Its going to be a tough decision--just hope for the best.
That's pretty much where I'm at- I want Isaac, I don't think he'll be available. I don't like DSJ or Frank, so that leaves me trying t get excited about Monk.
If Monk was 6'6 he would be the 1st pick in the draft probably. He literally is the complete package, with exception to his size. I understand it has a major effect on both ends of the floor, but his athletic ability and shooting ability can more than make up for it. How many players in the NBA who are both elite shooters and elite athletes aren't really successful?
Honestly you could say that about 3 or 4 players in the draft. But he isn't 6'6.
No you can't. There's not 1 other player in the draft with his combination of athletic ability and shooting/scoring ability. He's top 3 in both categories in the entire draft. He's the top shooter/scorer in the draft, by far, and top 3 overall athlete.

isnt size part of the athlete? I mean if Monk has a 42 inch but Mitchell has 40 are you calling Monk "a better athlete" because Mitchell has like another 6 inches on his reach. I hear you though... I dont expect Monk to be on the board. His skill set is just too easy to work with.

If he is a Knicks I'll be happy for him he is a good talent. I can see him fit into the triangle a player that doesn't necessarily need to have PH skills this ideal system for him. Probably need to have a play making SG to go with him to really exploit Monk's strengths which is moving without the ball.
Don't leave out Collins and OG from the discussion. Collins could be the best player in the entire draft and OG is often compared to Kawhi.
trust in the scouts i guess
Pre injury, in some pubs Dennis Smith was rated as the 3rd best prospect behind Ball and Jackson. He has top 3 talent and with todays technology, theres a good chance he can regain the same explosiveness (see Westbrook). If Smith is there, you take him...good value at 8.
Sure, Frankie N may have considerable upside but he is 18 and could be just a rotation player in the league. I'll take Monk.
He will contribute from day 1, is a lights out shooter in a 3 point obsessed league and is superb athlete. With Melo gone we will need the bucket filled and he's not ball obsessed.

Defense doesn't matter? We need defense.
