I think this is the deal that is going to happen. I think Philly takes Smith or Monk at 5. Nice trade for Philly.

It's anyone's guess where all of the point guards in the 2017 NBA Draft will end up – but some members of the Philadelphia 76ers remain big fans of North Carolina State's Dennis Smith Jr., per league sources. Smith Jr. is projected as a top-10 pick. But he is not seen as a top-3 pick. So if Philadelphia acquired Smith Jr. on Draft Night it would presumably have traded its No. 3 pick to a position lower in the first round to do so. Smith Jr. has worked out for the Lakers and Magic and met with the Knicks but did not work out for them. It is unclear if he will work out for Philadelphia but he's expected to work out in front of several teams on Thursday in a private workout, sources confirmed. Smith Jr. may also work out for Boston. Per league sources, Smith Jr.'s camp and the Celtics have discussed a potential workout for next week. Smith Jr.'s private workout Thursday was first reported by Basketball Insiders. The NY Daily News reported last month that the Sixers were intrigued by both Smith Jr. and Kentucky's De'Aaron Fox.

So basically, we were a Maurice Ndour game winning layup away from getting the 3rd pick and getting two lottery picks for it in exchange, lol.

You're under the impression losing that last game would have vaulted the Knicks three games in the lottery standings?

Knicks were 30-51 entering the game, Philly 28-53. Show your math. (Orlando ended the year with 53 loses, btw).

Not sure where they got this from if it isnt from Hayward's camp, but it does make sense. They could get a nice return for a Thomas sign and trade.

While the idea of Gordon Hayward in a Boston Celtics uniform has been gaining momentum lately, there may still be some major hurdles to overcome.

In an episode of “The Basketball Analogy” podcast on Wednesday, ESPN’s Tim MacMahon hinted at some potential reservations Hayward might have about playing with Isaiah Thomas.

“I do hear — this isn’t coming from Hayward’s camp, so it’s under the gossip category and not necessarily the reporting category — but I do hear Hayward has significant concerns about playing with Isaiah Thomas,” said MacMahon, per Drew Mackay of FanSided. “In other words, he wants the ball in his hands. He doesn’t just want to watch Isaiah dribble around and do his thing.”

The 27-year-old Hayward is expected to opt out of his contract with the Utah Jazz and become an unrestricted fre agent this summer. Armed with cap space, an opening on the wing, the prospects of immediate contention, and Hayward’s college coach, Brad Stevens, running the show, the Celtics are picking up steam as a possible destination for the All-Star. But co-existing with Thomas could indeed be a legitimate concern, given that both players led their respective teams in usage rate by a wide margin last season.

MacMahon does stress that the rumblings aren’t coming from Hayward’s camp, so they should probably be taken with a grain of salt. But with other potential landing spots emerging and the possibility still remaining that Hayward simply returns to the Jazz, it’s at least something to consider when weighing Boston’s chances of poaching away the former No. 9 overall pick.
