Before the season Frank Jacksons value was on par with Smith and Fultz. He was a secondary player at Duke--didnt play up to lofty expectations--although he played well for a freshmen at a big school. Hes over 6-3 205 pounds he has elite athleticism shake and a great 3 point shot. He showed some warts--almost every player has them--but hes going to come at a discount that will be significant. He has to be a top 5 steal of the draft IMHO. No one worked him out and hes off the basketball grid.
I thought he got hurt right after the combine.
Interesting. He'll probably go late in the 1st or early in the 2nd and he's a better player than that. His defense could be a problem.
From multiple scouts--
Frank Jackson, 6’3” freshman point guard, Duke
“Big question is his foot. He was a little too hell-bent on scoring and putting points on the board. You want to see if he can make good decisions on a consistent basis and get teammates involved. He had a great end of the year, but early on he was very up and down. Someone must have promised him he would go in the first round, but then he had this foot injury. He’s not a point guard in any way, shape or form. I don’t think he’s a great defender. He can make shots, but he’s an undersized for a combo. Should have stayed in school.”
