Several weeks ago, some reporters floated the idea that phil was trying to get himself fired by some of the antics he pulled...that idea doesnt seem so far fetched now...

Knicks could easily be in a worse psition. Just look at the Knicks over the past 2-4 years. No chance at winning anything meaningful and no draft picks. At least now the team is young and has assets to play around with.

345%..thats phils winning percentage, and all we have to show is a couple draft picks..Sac had 3 first round picks this yr alone, thats building through the draft..this guy couldn't move up, down, or trade for more picks because all the assets he had were trash..

The smart thing to do IMO is to give Jeff a year to show what he can do his way, pick his own staff. He's had only one season in his career as a head coach where mgmt didnt make things ridiculously more complicated than they had to be. He was a finalist for coach of the year that season.

If you're not having realistic shot at winning a championship, I don't care if the winning percentage is 10%. In that case I'd rather have a lower winning percentage to draft well.
That winning percentage was why were in position to draft KP which has put us in the best future position we've been in since we have had a young Ewing. So you should thank Phil for doing a great job there.

You are delusional. Jackson FAILED entirely to build a culture of professionalism. He undermined the coach, he rarely went on road trips, he fell out with our highly paid long term star player, he fell out with the best young player in 30 years, he did not discipline Rose appropriately when he went awol, he allowed his friends in the press to do his bidding for him etc etc. For all his accomplishments as a coach he was a disastrous President, an unmitigated nightmare. The Knicks are a laughing stock and he has overseen the entire shambles. I hope he never darkens the Garden again with his presence.
For the record I'm no Melo defender. He's been a huge letdown for too long now.

I don't know what KP has done to earn a NTC, but it seems the same fans who jeered when he got drafted now see him as an untouchable.
