Most fans were in cahoots to get Phil out. This is one of the few places where people thought he was doing a good job instead of putting up the worst record in franchise history.
You first have to be bad to be good in the NBA.

You have to know what you're doing, Phil didn't. Phil made a point of reminding people that he was trying to make the playoffs. He wasn't trying to be bad, his decisions made it turn out that way.

You can hate the messenger but the message is on point....Phil never wanted to be here in the first place!!!

Well it gets Melo away from the young players for one so he can't poison the well.
It also gives them a chance to learn how to win on their own.
There's a lot of pluses to having Melo gone.
People have been asserting this, but I've not seen a shred of evidence this is happening.
Imagine that. Posting assertions backed with evidence.
KP is an acknowledged unicorn, despite Melo poisoning the well. Willy wins Rookie Team award, despite Melo poisoning the well. KP blows off exit meeting, has to be Melo poisoning the well.
Hard to have evidence of Melo NOT being on team when he is on team. Although there was that Lin era when Melo didn't play much
Huh? There's plenty of evidence melo is on the team, but that has little relation to the topic.
