This also shows while Phil has stepped down, there seems to be consistency with the plans and players he wanted.
Depends on the contract, but I like this move, because he plays defense and is high IQ player on offense. I feel off the bench, he and Ntilikina would make for a fun backcourt. If we fail to sign a veteran point and Nti shows he's not ready at camp, Baker may even start for us on opening night.
I've got zero problem with that, because he's a good player for a rebuild situation.

Baker is worth keeping around. He's cheap and he plays hard. He still has decent upside still. We're boot in a place where fee agents are looking at us. We have to establish ourselves... Not concern ourselves with trying to get players to carry us out the dungeon.
Baker might end up being the best floor general on the team next season, reading some of the names on the Knicks alleged wish list.

Knicks are going to have to GROW their way out of this. Sure if a great trade presents itself then by all means but more likely this team is going to have to be patient and focus on player development. Baker is going to be better now that he's been thru a season. I expect his offense to come back. You could see his confidence coming back late in the season.
Shouldn't we be hoping if Randle is on the team?? Remember Baker would've made the team if it wasn't for Randle getting hurt. So are losing site of who should be signing??
