I guess it depends on what you're expectations were for this offseason. The general vibe the Knicks gave was to expect a rebuilding style offseason. There are still trades that can be made. Gotta let this play out.

I like it. they did not do rash signing like this team has a history of doing. also we have trade offers for melo so we have to see what we can get back. if we go into the offseason with baker and frank n., it isn't a bad things since we will probably be bad and get a very good pick next year in a draft that is supposed to be just as good.

Doing nothing is exact what they should be doing. Think if Phil had done nothing last season. We would have probably had a better season and would not be stuck with Noah's contract. We have drafted some decent prospects. We have solid players at every position. The only thing left to do is sign a cheap veteran pg, so Frank can have a mentor and then let the kids play. Preserve cap space to possibly facilitate a trade that gets us another pick. Mills is doing an A++ job. As far as trading Lee or Quinn, how do we know that have not been making offers. Those guys are good solid vets on decent contracts. Unless someone is offering a late first rounder we might as well keep them.

More Melos and Roses, yup.
I can think of worse off-seasons: Noah 4 years, 72 mil. Melo 124 mil, no trade clause, trade kicker. Amare, Houston, and more. I can't think of any off-seasons that were a disaster because the Knicks didn't make a big signing.

This is all good. The Knicks are managing expectations down this time around. Phil pandered to Melo way too much by expecting playoffs.
Summer league is being used for evaluation and development as it should be.
Melo is being allowed to sulk without pity. lots of options remain open.
Miami or Memphis looking more and more like Melo destinations.
Isla actually making sense.
We have two draft picks coming in, a few yoots still like Baker, Randal, the Vandy kid, and keeping cap space for a trade.
Why do anything if Melo is still an undecided issue.
Some fans think "Change is improvement". not always the case. Does that mean fans should be happy? Satisfied? Of course not.
