Im not even sure people here understand what summer league is for. Summer league is like OTAs. Its a chance for coaching staff to work with prospects and get to know them, and oh yea.. there are some games.
Lest we forget Majec Lampe... Summer league superstar.
Dotson looks good. Can shoot it and defends.
Kornet can shoot it. He just grew to 7 foot in the last 2 years. He now has to learn the inside game and put on some muscle. He has a good feel for the game.
Mayes looks decent.
Randle is not a PG.
Laberyrie could be a 2 way option like Kornet. Needs bulk but has a nice shot.
Barry is athletic.

Man I'm flat tired of your pessimism, you can turn anything into a negative for the Knicks and it's straight laughable and quite frankly fairly idiotic at the same time.

My only hope is in years past, our SL team rocked, and gave effort, and then our regular squad sucked awful. Maybe we flip that script?
Pretty simple. No first round talent, particularly not first round ball handlers.
That's why they're bad.

First year player Frank Ntilikina didn't play.
2nd year players Ron Baker and Willy Hernangomez didn't play.
Lot of those types of players are playing for other teams.

It's pretty exhausting to read his posts for me and now i just scroll right past any of his posts.
Wonder if pride will prevent some acknowledging how good Dotson looked today/in general.
Still a long way from making the roster and a longer way away from PT, but he provided what you want to see from a second rounder - skill that suggests a path to the roster.
If ONE guy not your own 1st rounder makes your roster from the summer league, that's a success.

8-11 (4-7)
20 points
9 boards
4 assists
1 steal
That's a well-rounded stat line.

No secret that I am not a fan of both Phil or rebuilding with a complete restart and ONLY young draft picks. But for a guy that loves picking draft long shots, it doesn't seem right to put these young guys down after just a couple of games. Imo.
Think any pick in second round has already been established to be a long shot in being an immediate impact player. Btw, Dotson looks fine, Randle is progressing and a couple of the young guys look like they may fill the D league squad.
However was surprised at the Luke knee jerk signing and the kid Jaramaz. But again, can't really judge these guys until 3 years from now.
Dotson is a terrific find. I like Kornet's game too. If Frank is what he's supposed to be we did very well this offseason.
I don't care that much for Labeyrie, Barry and some of the others.
Rathan-Mayes, Artis and Jaramaz (who needs more time in Europe to develop his outside game) intrigue me but I'll mark as incomplete. Same with Nigel Hayes who looked bad up until today where he looked pretty good.
