I dont know what the right play is... but I do know there is a clear downside/backfire to Melo that doesnt exist with Noah.
Noah has a lot of pride. I expect him to be able to help, if only in a limited role. Ideally we start him next to KP, he's a ball mover, defender and a ton setter and we get 65-70 games and 18-20mpg from him. If we get that you will see the positives he brings.

As for Melo. Fact is, there are no players on this team nor recent teams claiming Melo is a "cancer to the team? He is a guy that leads us in scoring every year. Is one year removed from leading us in dimes and scoring. Does he hold the ball? Yes Does he force it at times? Yes. Best defender? No. Should he be considered for a buyout and not Noah? No way.

Hey... he's been really good after quitting. So maybe we get to see a Post-MDA now I want to play hard for Woody Melo. That would be amazing to be honest. So would having Jessica Alba lick my taint. The Alba scenario is more plausible. Just calling it like I see it. Few have supported Melo around here as much over the years as I have. That being said I dont support a buyout and I want no part of Ryan Anderson. If its one of those options I would rather pray he shows up herpes free for training camp
Think we agree on most. Never liked the Noah/Triangle signing. But don't agree Melo is the "Cancer" or this organization or "Main" problem. As we see by Thjr possible signing and fans thinking it is good to resign a guy for $18 they thought was not worth a bean bag 3 years ago, there is alot wrong with this franchise.
I dont like it myself, hated it at first but after second look I see their thinking. We will see if their thinking is right or not and what other moves follow this. In my experience anytime you are waiting for "the next move" with the Knicks you will be sorely disappointed.

Noah, after a spotty few months in which his defense slipped and his offense often was nonexistent, suffered the same hamstring injury in early February that wrecked his preseason. He never returned. He eventually needed arthroscopic knee surgery. Then came the drug ban. Followed by the revelation his shoulder, which he hurt in January, needed surgery.His history? His history elsewhere is all he's got going for him. Right now, he's at best an insanely overpriced double digit rebounder, which is offset by stupid banned substances and the worst offensive game we've seen since Chris Dudley.
We have a broken down 32 year-old albatross on one of the worst contracts since Jon Koncak. Who's apologizing for banned substances. And provided next to nothing, other than fond memories of Robin Lopez and commercials for Phil's triangles.

Playing 29 whole effing games for a 72 million dollar contract = equilibrium, positivity
Scoring more points = -2
Getting caught using banned substances = nice way to stop stinking up the place, more positivity by enhancing the importance of apologizing for a negative example!
And as far as THJ is concerned, as long as KornHoleZinger is on board and doesn't skip any entry meetings this season, i'm good to go! WTF needs a defensive 2 anyway, we need a .350 3 point shooter!
