Sign with Cavs. Get a 1st round pick and flip Love out to PORTLAND FOR SOME youth a pick and talent. Plus with Crowder, and LBJ Melo's defensive liabilities will be absorbed.
Melo wont go to Cleveland because LeBron might bail after next season. He wants to go to another team where he can get more money next season, if he stays. Wants to be sure the team he signs with will contend for the next few years. Wont happen in Cleveland without LeBron, and LeBron probably wont decide what to do till next summer.
Think it's safe to say Melo will be a Knick till at least the trade deadline.

Melo is owed 54 mil for 2 years, has an 8 mil trade kicker, and a NTC. My guess is he s a Knick this year, opts in and either is a Knick or is bought out next year.
If Melo doesn't expand his list of teams. .I am afraid a lot of knick Gans will turn on him. I hope it's not the case. He has grown on me.

Big deal, I do that on a laptop, and after reading it twice.
Both Hoodie Melo and Melo got to go - sooner the better. Pick if possible but frankly I'm fine with him leaving as soon as feasible on almost any condition.
More Melo nonsense. https://hoopshabit.com/2017/09/09/new-york-knicks-how-carmelo-anthony-impacts-knicks-training-camp/
He's a distraction. G2G
What about this? The Nets'could get a HOU future 1st rounder...and the Magic could get both our 2019 second round picks (via CLE and TOR) as well as the draft rights to Isiah Hartenstein.

From the article,
“Knicks players repeatedly said this summer that even as bad as it got last season, Anthony was never a problem with the coaches or the staff and that he was liked by his teammates. Assuming none of that has changed, it’s not like the Knicks would be bringing a toxic element into their locker room with Anthony, but it would create an external circus the entire team would have to manage, at least initially.”
So, the reason the Knicks aren’t rushing to trade Melo before training camp is because they know his character as a teammate.
He's only toxic to his coaching staff and team management so no big deal I guess.
So Jabari Parker's supposedly seeking a max contract offer eventually from the Bucks (5 yrs/max money). Is that something that scares the Bucks into trading him and opens the door up for us?

How would the Knicks acquire him?

Say Bucks take anderson and a pick from Rockets, We get Jabari, Melo to Rockets.
Not saying thats fair or in favor.
Jabari wants max money? SO do I. Dude knees are not exactly max money.
He can ask. Every team should be scared, but Im not a knee specialist.
I love the idea of Jabari all healthy and we take it on, but I remember eddy and Amare also.

This is a Knicks move if I've ever seen one. Alternatively, we could just wait and Amare him. Can't see many besides the Knicks signing up to max a guy who probably will never play.

Thats a fair statement before the "Great Cultural Revolution".
I'd have to say since the McKinsey deal the knicks are more foreward thinking. Melo contract not crazy as the guy can still play. Not saying he is worth the money, nor did Phils vision come to fruition. We know what happend.
The only deal that comes close to being awful is Noah's and we talking 17mil year, not 30!!! Its not that outrageous that Noah's return to some form of good healthy.
So while its not pretty today, its not a franchise killer.
Melo can be traded for Anderson who is not aweful. We just don't want that.
That alone speaks to a change. As for Parker, he has the talent, but will have to prove his durability. Im not going to kill the knicks based what parker wants and what internet chatter says.

My sources say Melo to Houston is going to happen. (Guys that played at Cuse). NY is just trying to squeeze out another piece but will most likely take Anderson, a first and a filler rather than letting Melo come to training camp. They may see Anderson as another 3pt. threat that would allow KP to operate freely. From what has been coming out of the front office, this seems possible.

I agree but I think management wants him out. He is liked by his teammates and at least some of the players on the team were not fond of the coaching staff at the end of the season. I don't think Melo is toxic but I think management wants him gone possibly enough to be the team to compromise on this trial.

Management will not take bad contact to just move him.
They will rather have him play and even start.
Melo is the master of his own destiny.
It is his time to choose.
Stay in NY and prove everyone wrong by sticking with youth and changing his role or open the out-NTC list to Portland or more teams and get some fun winning.
I actually think both ways it will be good for the Knicks. And I believe Mils and Perry think in same lines.
