Crabbe got traded to NJ. Problem with a Portland deal is we would still likely have to take Leonard's contract, although at least he's younger. Harkless is the prize here. He's a combo forward that is great defensively, very athletic, and improved his 3pointer last year. He fits in perfectly with the core group Perry mentioned, as he has a lot of qualities that are missing from that group. We could possibly get a 2018 1st round pick too.

Harkless; Aminu; and maybe Voneh (or Davis) + 1st for Melo + Jaramaz. Have to get the salaries to match within 125%
Ideally Portland wants to trade Leonard instead of Aminu and Voneh(or Davis) which would mean that a 3rd team would have to get involved to take Leonard. I think we'll know by early next week. Knicks will not cave in and take Anderson from Houston. Melo will have to accept being traded to Portland which really isn't a bad thing for him at all. They'll have an excellent starting line-up with Melo at the 3.

I wouldn’t be surprised if melo gets moved to Portland Lillard,C.J.,and melo is a dynamic offensive core. It’s god aweful on defense but in today’s nba offensive teams win .

I think hoodie melo would rather be anywhere then NYC and the knicks know it . Perry and mills keep acting like he doesn’t exist and that he most definitely is not part of the team. We are not going to take on crap contracts like Ryan Anderson just to please melo. If he wants out of nyc then we are going to take the best deal for the team. Otherwise be prepared for MSG to rain hard on Melos parade, I can already hear the chants. Pass the ball- ball hog-and Houston and of course Melo sucks

If I can get Swanigan and Harkless--we win that trade. Ill take Leonard to make the $ work--and even keep him if needed BUT we'd have to get rid of players if we do and Im not sure I want to. Swanigan was more like a lottery pick than a 2 rder. Id rthare have Swanigan than their draft pick if we had to choose.
Harkless, Aminu, Davis, & Vonleh works on trade checker. Makes sense as they can't afford to retain Davis & Vonleh in the off season as they will cost double in lux tax. They also have Collins, Nurkic, Swanigan to fall back on in the front court.
Portland shouldn't be able to get Melo and dump Leonard on us. I would even accept not getting a pick for that package. As I feel Harkless, Aminu, Davis are all realy nice fits around a KP & Willy front court. Davis replacing KOQ would be ideal given their styles. A lot more athleticism. Same with Aminu who is a good re bounder and can knock down the 3. Harkless, Aminu, Davis add a lot of athleticism and length. And gives Jeff some good options with more balanced lineups out of that front court.

We should do this anyway, regardless of how far along we are in working out a Melo trade package. I would like to move Melo first, but it's not a necessity at this point.

Ill take the first rd pick if we can get it--but getting 2 2's With Swanigan and Harkless is still a nice haul --Im not rejecting a deal like that if its not a #1. I think having two big body skilled players like that is better than a # 20 draft pick(which would be lotto protected right?) All depends--I dont think its going to be easy getting SWanigan--well see.

Caleb Swanigan> Zach Collins. Leonard's contract is 1/2 of Turner's. Im pretty sure that Leonard Harkless Swanigan with the picks gets the $ right.

If we get Swanigman and harkless and leonard plus picks id say it's a fair deal. Briggs was s right about Swanigman he's the real deal. Watch his summer league highlights. Might be a steal. Harkless is great too. Leonard is the crap part of the deal but Id take him for the other two. Maybe if we throw in Courtney Lee we can get their first round pick too instead of the second rounders.
I am confused. So many of us have openly stated that we would give up Melo for little and ivensaidnd teade him for a tuna sandwich just to get him off the team. I think if we move Melo it’s Portland agreed. So, trade Melo for Swanigan yes!!! I love an enforcer and he can bound and score. But who else. Probably not Collins as they want to build with him and I do like Harkless. And a second? Sure. But do the numbers work? I wanna throw Lee in but he too makes money so tell me how the numbers work cuz we don’t have enough spots for Portland to just backup the truck for Brand Melo (or is it Hoodie Melo?)
