What space can we clear though?
Like we got the mid level exception but it looks like a chunk of that is going to Baker..... Who I would rather keep than acquiring Rondo
we could probably dump lance, include a few future first rounders. Jettison Noah, and spread out his salary into the next decade and have maybe enough to just sign Rondo.

I presume that means a trade as we've renounced all we can. So either KOQ or Lee

If we trade Melo and get back Harkless, Leonard and say, Hartenstein who we can stash in Europe for this season I think that we pick up about $6 million in salary right there.

Well, I'm not sure. Begley just put out an article that says that there remains mutual interest and that we're trying to create some cap space to make it happen.

I for one would see Rondo on this team (along w Melo) as a plus. Rondo is gamer. He almost lead the bulls past the celtics during the post season. I there cant be any debate Rondo was the reason as the series turned when he went down. Rondo is a true point guard and a triple double threat every night. I would also love Rondo around also to mentor Frenchy. I think Rondo will work here only if Melo is around.

I think a fair question at this stage is what do you expect the Knicks to accomplish with Melo?
Knicks clearly want to make Kp the alpha dog and surround him with complimentary players suited and inclined to be 2-5 options.

One Alpha dog is not the trend of todays NBA. Melo around is not the reason KP struggle to score against opposing PGs in the post. KP needs to learn to be aggressive and assert his size. Cant blame eveything on Melo.

Rondo is a pass first guard. Really dont see a Wade and Butler situation.

Harkless and Leonard are both scrubs. Appears ppl just want youth and nothing else.
